Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Random, but props to the students/kids that show up to the game sitting in the front row that always bring the State of Ohio flag to each of the last couple big games.

Always cool to see when they show the crowd celebrating.

Two times in the 'Bama threads mentioned the Buckeyes would lose, which was my honest opinion. Now I think they're gonna win. Again, my honest opinion which I will mention again in a couple days. Cardale is the game changer as his addition to the starting unit has been seamless. The team has not skipped a beat which is quite extraordinary. Credit for this goes to CJ and the coaching staff.

This team has to be reminding Meyer of his 2006 Gator team except for the QB situation. Florida had many close games.

btw, EsecPN has recovered nicely from their sec fetish hangover ...

Mariota Could Be Best QB Ever

Thank you EsecPN!

There's hyperbole and then there's EsecPN. Hey, they can't rant and rave about the sec anymore until next August. Yea, ***if*** Mariota beats the Buckeyes yada yada yada. What's this if bs ?!?

So let's recap, shall we:

EsecPN has a pro sec fetish.

EsecPN has a negative Ohio State football fetish.

EsecPN has currently picked Mariota as its new flavor of the month. me thinks "they" are putting wayyy too much importance on the FSU game. And that's a plus for Ohio State ie Oregon destroyed a highly overrated team. And the Buckeyes beat down the nation's previous #1 team methodically over 4 quarters. So the focus advantage goes to OSU.

hmm, what was my original point?

Some stats for those of us, including me, who think that team up north will take some time to catch up to the Buckeyes.

UM ~ 27 first downs/372 total yards
'Bama ~ 21 first downs/407 total yards

Lies, damn lies and statistics!

btw, didn't realize until my previous post when I wrote out bs that [Mark May] automatically appears. BP must operate on the adage expressed in 'The Godfather'. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer! :urban2:

Interesting Meyer appears to be friendly w/Helfrich and Chip Kelly. hmm, wonder if he'll become friendly w/Harbaugh? :hoke:

I digress.

You'll begin to understand the flaws in your argument in a couple years when ESPN starts pimping JT Barrett as Best QB Ever.

What argument? That EsecPN has a negative Ohio State football fetish. For years thought the reason EsecPN had so many OSU articles period was because of traffic ie so many of their readers either hate or love OSU sports.

But you're right, it isn't so much that EsecPN didn't like the Buckeyes. Rather they thought the sec is soooo frickin' invincible that no one, let alone Ohio State, would ever be good enough to beat a team from the south in a NC game.

Unfortunately for them, they appear to have hitched their flag ship er mother ship w/the sec (((bandwagon))) as the tide is turning ...

I dont think there is any way the sec network is going to hurt espn. They have all the playoff games. That's huge.

Since the rest of the nation has caught the SEC, that will only bring more fans.

If this national title game is good (which I think it will be) the stage will be set for further growth of college football, the playoff (expansion to six teams after five years), and ESPN.

People get bored with dominance - the fans, the teams, the media.
