2016 CFB Week 13 Open Thread

I'm not worried about the playoff, I just want a B1G championship. Sad to see how most people don't even care about that anymore.

Let's be honest here, Big Ten Championships are nice but they fail in comparison to a playoff bid.

Gone are the days where a conference title is the auto-in for a BCS Bowl and/or National Championship game. They are great to have because they pad the resume and help get you to the playoffs, but if you can get in without it - why care about it after it's pretty much a foregone item. Look at basketball for example. Winning the B1G is helpful for the playoffs, but ultimately not necessary.

That's my whole point. It's disappointing to me that nobody even gives a crap about winning the conference. It's playoffs or nothing. I guess I'm in the minority but B1G championships are special

They are indeed special. However, if you are asking me to choose between a B1G Championship & Rose Bowl, or a non-B1G championship & Playoff bid...

One offers a possible national championship, the other possibly not.

Let's all remember that this Texas Tech team lost 66-10 last week to IOWA FUCKING STATE. Jesus Christ Baylor. Of course I wouldn't be shocked if Tech gave up 70 unanswered points in the 2nd half.

BTW, Mahomes has 400 passing yards in the first half. Hey Baylor,

They become less special when conference schedules can be stacked heavily against one team allowing someone like Penn State to walk through.

The BIG Conference is poorly setup, with one very skrong side and one relatively weak side. I think it was setup better before we brought Rutgers and Maryland into the fold. I thing scUM's schedule pales in comparison to P$Us

I get that and I'm not saying you're wrong to think that way. I just personally would much rather see this team in Indy than not. Of course it's all moot if we don't take care of business tomorrow.

The Big Ten tried their best with the Legends & Leaders thing. The problem was that it was an awkward divide. Dividing the conference by geography feels more natural but results in a lop-sided conference.

My biggest bitch with scUMs schedule is that all their games seemed to be at home, other than 2 patsys.

A lot still to happen but Iowa's blowout of Nebraska could come back to bite us in the ass. Next week Iowa will likely jump UN in the rankings, simultaneously strengthening psu's resume and hurting ours. I still don't think psu would beat wiscy in the ccg but if they do, they'll have a stronger profile than they had before today. Once again, thanks Nebraska
