2017 MLB Playoffs (Official Thread)

Horse[Mark May]. Cubs fans might be obnoxious, but they're not bandawagon fans. If they were wired like that, they never would have been Cubs fans in the first place. They've stuck with the Cubs through years of utter dog[Mark May].
I can’t stand the Cubs, but they do have a loyal fan base. Of course there’s a shit load of bandwagon cubs fans, but they have a huge amount of diehards that have stuck with them through the garbage.

When it comes to athleticism, baseball is more like golf and bowling than it is like football and basketball. If you don't believe that, take a look at CC Sabathia.

The Pirates gave up on Charlie Morton. He's pitched 5 shut out innings in game seven of the ALCS, while Sabathia has already been pulled.

Good job, Bucs. :pirate:

He does a great job namaging a team in the regular season: however, not so great in the playoffs. Maybe it is time for Dusty Baker to just call it a career (and retire).

I loved Dusty as the skipper for the Reds. He pulled his bonehead bullpen moves and clung to his bench guys to the teams detriment, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a manager routinely take teams with multiple holes in the lineup and in the field to division championships as routinely as Dusty did. Whatever his motivational secret is I'll never know, but he's the epitome of the manager that can get 25 no-talent ass clowns to run through a wall and believe.

I mostly blame his GMs for not Dusty-proofing their rosters. You can't build a team on sabermetrics or a bullpen with situational middle-relief specialists and hand those keys to Dusty and expect Tony LaRussa results.
