2018-2019 B1G Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

I have posted previously but I think the Nebraska A.D. is fooling himself if he thinks he can establish a winning basketball program at Nebraska. I know they just got new facilities but that is a hard pull for anyone. I thought that Miles did a pretty good job this past season with the injuries that they had. Plus, he is a pretty likable guy and I think would relate well to recruits.

I don't mind Wiscy losing.

I really don't.
i know the standard assumption is that wisconsin is a program with replaceable cogs and recurring success, but i'm looking at their squad next year and... woof.

is reuvers really going to be their happ or kaminsky? is davison going to be their koenig? is ford going to be their hayes? i'm just not seeing the pieces to form a team that threatens the conference's top half. they're going to live and die by the outside jumper, which is hardly exceptional. the problem is that i don't think they'll have the interior players to draw defenders from the perimeter or enough players with dribble penetration skills to do the same.

gard better be hitting the grad transfer market hard for a real post player.

edit: forgot that they'll have potter. obviously they're going to be set as a result. probably a national title contender.

They lose Khalil Iverson as well, who is a top tier Big Ten athlete that, while not a big scorer on average, did chip in good games here and there offensively and contributed in a number of ways. Iverson was an outlier on their team with his combination of strength, athleticism and energy.

Iverson was insufficiently pale to be a true Badger. Probably a teetotaler, too.
