2018-2019 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

What an ending in Louisville. Clemson leads most of the (ugly) game, Cards storm back to go up 7, then 2 last minute 3's puts Clemson down 1.

Cards threw the inbound away with 3.5 seconds, but the inbounder jumps in to block the game-winning layup. Chaos.

Oh man, Kentucky is fully functional now.

(Also, Tennessee never stood a chance this game, come on...)
UK is the best team in the SEC no doubt. Tennessee is a good team, but they aren't quite as elite as the #1 ranking this time of year would suggest. I have to revisit my prediction about Tennessee making the Final Four - the more I see of them, they are more of a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 team.

Rick Barnes teams are good for an early exit when projected to go far.. he might make the final 4 but it will more of a fluke than expected...

Well he did have a team at Texas that had 3 first round picks later in the year that didn't even make the Sweet 16, so anything is possible with a team of less highly regarded prospects.

I do find it strange that Barnes stole Grant Williams's popcorn and ate it in front of him while Grant was on a treadmill, taunting him.

I have been studying some obscure teams for my bracket this season. Watched the recent game between the leaders of the Horizon League. Jae'Sean Tate's brother Jalen is one of the leading scorers for Northern Kentucky. Tate got a crucial T late in the game at Wright St for jawing at an opponent, which was his 5th foul, and eventually Wright St escaped with a narrow win. Either way, both teams look pretty weak in terms of NCAA tournament prospects. I won't pick either of those teams to win anything.

A much more interesting league is the Ivy. The status of Seth Towns is one thing that is puzzling. He has sat out the whole year reportedly due to injury, but Harvard isnt saying when he might be back. Kind of a big deal. Does anyone know if he is going to play or is he just out for the season?

Alabama is doing their best to make the NIT in spite of being loaded with talent. I doubt the bubble is going to be quite weak enough for them to miss, though, with a win over KY and a couple other quality Ws, even though they may end up with 14 or 15 losses. Or they could be the NIT champions.

We beat them pretty good at their house recently, and we don't belong in the Dance. I'm thinking neither does Bammer
