2018 NFL Draft Talk Thread

I don't see Barkley as even being a prospect like Zeke, Fournette or Gurley... let alone somehow better.

The media hype is scary and I hope and trust Dorsey having found Kareem in the 3rd round signals to him that value at the RB is easily had outside the 1st.

I know this is going to sound weird, but if someone asks for the 1st round pick to take Barkley, if I'm the Browns I'm listening.

Barkley is a workout freak, but this team needs more than a RB - if he's there at 4 I'd think about taking him but I'd bet someone will see this combine performance and make the call to the Browns at 1....

I can't be the only one who doesn't want any 1st round QBs, am I?

Depends on the QB. Rosen appears to be the only one I'd invest a 1st rounder in... I could warm up to Darnold but it would be a big maybe.

That said, I can't imagine a single NFL GM moving up to #1 for a RB. Most especially in the modern NFL.

GMs can be the smartest or dumbest people on the planet. And if they are in a desperate spot, you never know given the combine numbers.

I know it's been discussed ad nauseum already, but I have a problem with picking someone who doesn't want to be there. The Browns have enough issues, adding a malcontent rookie doesn't seem like a great way to fix it.

Oh and I'd cut Peppers yesterday if I could.

Watching the combine interview and some of the quotes, the narrative of Rosen not wanting to be in Cleveland seems to be all but history.

But in my view, he's no better a prospect than Zeke, Fournette, Gurley, and several other RBs the past few years that aren't immediately coming to mind.
Kamala, hunt, Johnson. So many good/great backs.

So few competent let alone high level QBs. The browns can get a pretty good back in the second round. They are unlikely to have the same luck at QB. And a kind of good RB is still usable, unlike QB.

Nineteen years. That's how long it's been since the Browns addressed QB at the top of the draft. Do your homework, trust your evaluations and take the guy you think is best with the first overall pick, whoever that may be (hopefully Rosen or Darnold lol). Time to stop kicking the can down the road on the most important position in the sport. If it fails, so be it. I can accept shooting your shot and coming up short. Can't take pussyfooting around anymore.

So the genius that drafted Peppers over Hooker has more "draft commodity" and has taken to wearing a cape.
