Shocker that Tiger is still folding once it becomes a team game.

Why the U.S. fails miserably every time it comes to Europe

1. For whatever reason, this event makes Tiger Woods mortal.

2. Americans on the PGA Tour play too much bomb-and-gouge golf, and when you take that away from them, they struggle to collectively adjust.

3. Americans get too hung up on needing a specific partner, or a specific ball, in order to feel comfortable.

4. American golf can't shake this idea that everyone on the team needs to play before Sunday.

Tiger choking another match away...
Gonna be 0fer. Just not a good Ryder Cup player as his record shows.

The US doesn’t have the veteran guys like Garcia, Stenson, Poulter, and Rose that get it.

Phil is long in the tooth and just hanging on and well Tiger I already mentioned.

Long term though the US has some great young stars and that bodes well.

Yikes! Only Furyk's 10-20 record surpasses Tiger's 10-23 (?) in Ryder Cup play. Hate to say it, but Phil comes up a bit short, and our 'newbies' don't seem to be able to handle the pressure of 'team'. USA are great as individualists, but these country club matches (best ball, alternating shot), seem to buffalo them.
Certainly understand Furyk's going after the 'hot hand' for his captain's selections, oh well, we'll have to wait another two years. Not sure there's a 'silver bullet' for the USA as a team captain.

I am happy for Tiger Woods that he won a tournament, but it would be foolish for him to think he is back. Age is what age does. You can stay in the greatest shape, but you will sooner or later lose subtle levels of the fine muscle needed to be the best in the world, even for a four day tournament.
