I honestly believe losing Coombs has hurt the worst. The secondary looks like it lacks intensity every week, and that’s exactly what Coombs brought to this team.

EDIT: don’t get me wrong, the LB group is an absolute mess. I truly think Davis is either in over his head, or he just isn’t translating to the college game AT ALL.

The corners haven’t done much of anything so far. And Sheffield played extremely well last season opposite Ward. I hope they turn it up, but the fact still remains.. The secondary just doesn’t look like it has any confidence what so ever. At least under Coombs, he’d get them fired up and playing with better intensity than I’ve seen so far.

Sheffield was shaky at best until around the 9th or 10th game of the season last year.

Just dont know how anyone can see this as an NC winning team. People tried to say that we were still on the same level as Bama(top of the mountain) after last week and I scoffed, this week is further proof. I know that previous years had close games and blah blah blah, but this defense isn't good, it's barely average against average-bad teams. Our only comp in the nation is Bama and Clemson, and though our fans laugh at their schedule, they have looked dominant and made less mistakes than our team. Idk where the main problem lies, as there are a number of them, mainly on the defense but the OL is playing like dog shit too. Sad because we're about to squander the greatest QB performance in OSU history on some of the worst defensive play in years!

What am I supposed to do about it? I am an OSU fan not a NC fan. Jump on the Saban bandwagon until they lose then on to Clemson.

Bama is in another world compared to the rest of the CFB world. Got a long way to go to be considered top 4 in the country. Passing game is great but everything else is mediocre at best.
