2021 College Football Polls

It's funny how sooooo many people pop off about the AP polls not really mattering and only the CFP matters now. Bullshit, it absolutely matters because all those teams get propped up based on beating teams that are "ranked". Most people around here realize that, at least those living through the BCS years. We know who benefits by these polls the most.
At least the AP actually is trying this year. The coaches poll is clearly has not watch clemson this year

It’s gonna be real entertaining trying to watch ESPN hype up the garbage teams Clemson plays week after week this year. “A underperforming but Talented Florida State team”
I’m not sure if they forgot to list the remaining ranked teams on Clemson’s schedule. They might have put the list of Clemson’s Heisman winners in there by mistake.

Coombs has essentially guaranteed Oregon a playoff spot.

Don't you realize that the only guaranteed playoff spots go to SEC teams? This year it seems like Alabama and Georgia fall into that category.

Did Ohio State look better on Saturday than they've looked so far this year? Nah... Down one spot - jumped by 3 teams

Did TTUN look worse Saturday than they've looked so far this year? Nah... Up 5 spots - jumped by no one

Agreed on not being too concerned. And nor am I too concerned about the tirade, at least not in terms of the ranking.

Any comment I ever make, including observations about Ohio State's ranking, will be comments on the whole ranking process and how ridiculous it is. If voters, be they SIDs, Sports Writers, or CFP Committee Members would just rank teams based on how good they are, not on how many teams above them deserved to be moved down etc, then this might make sense. It would still be quite subjective, but it would make sense.

This week should be the first time a poll comes out and counts. Say all you want about the AP and Coaches Polls not counting towards the playoff but they greatly influence the CFP committees thinking. Otherwise the SEC wouldn't try so hard to rank every piece of shit lower level they have in conference to boost their conference chances.
