2022 Rose Bowl, tOSU vs Utah, Jan 1st @ 5pm EST, ESPN

Yeah, it was; the family is actually die hard BYU fans. In addition, he is married.

Say what?.....

Apparently his family is very well off; and I'm guessing that Utah has the best NIL program in college football, Britain has a great job in the family business (CoveyLink Worldwide, LLC), and/or Britain has one hell of trust fund.

Interesting story: https://www.deseret.com/2021/4/15/2...came-consummate-utah-man-for-kyle-whittingham
The Mormon community helps each other succeed. Financial aid is often available through church connections and services.

Kyle Whittingham said this: "I think the only reason why is because we were at sea level or whatever and it doesn't travel as far."

This reasoning is the only thing that I have read here or on 11W. No one mentioned the turf as a cause (setting the planting foot) or any injury to Ruggles. Outside of underinflated footballs, I am not smart enough (the wife will vouch for that) to come up with a better reason.

Rose bowl field surface is notoriously bad plus the fucking moonson the previous days likely didn't help. Surprised it didn't get muddy

Surely there is a place on the staff for him. Special teams? Quality control?

100% if he can roll with the new role. He is a great DB coach and recruiter. Found out he's an awful DC. Neither was LJ Sr and that turned out just fine. People need to understand being a head coach isn't the only end game in the world.

Loving Coombs there after all of his adversity.

that dude sings his heart out too and dances during Buckeye Swag. No doubt he loves the university and these guys

I don't know. He still does well in recruiting and most say he's good with DBs. We'll see I guess

He took the demotion from DC on the sidelines to co-DC in the booth with "class" this past season. He is an excellent recruiter and position coach. I'll guess (if he wants) he'll get to stay on as a DB coach at a lesser salary then the $1.5M he made the last 2 years. With Barnes gone he can coach both the corners and safeties. Unfortunately career wise, he was a classic example of the "Peter Principle".

Game Reflections:
OFFENSE
Record after record after record after record after record after record
Best QB and WR in CFB
The best Offense in CFB
Kudos to the OL - No sacks and had a better YPC than Utah
Henderson had a quiet but productive day with some key first downs. 100+ yards of total Offense. Big 4th quarter.

DEFENSE
Ist Half abysmal performance
2nd Half resurrection of the silver bullets. Gave up less than 140 yds and only 10 pts.
Eichenberg, Vincent, Kourt Williams, Burke, Harrison, Tuimoloau all had really good performances

SPECIAL TEAMS
Continually kicking to Covey. WHAT? REALLY?
Ruggles is a rock star. Hope he returns

ROSE BOWL CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!
