2023-2024 Ohio State Men's Basketball (apathy, depression, hope?)

He has 2 nice wins, but Thursdays’ game was a typical sleepwalk that the team had been doing all season. This is his chance to show he can do it for more than a few games before they decide.

With @Mike80 on this that seeing who is going to stay will be key. I hope they talk to the players,
I don’t think the Minnie game was a typical sleep walk at all. It was a letdown from Purdue, but with CH in charge we get blown out of the barn

The boys love playing for him I know that. Does he have the goods? Who knows. Fuck it and let's go with it
I'd go a full search in the offseason. But depending on how this season ends Diebler can make that untenable. I'm not opposed for him being a Candidate though so far. He's show the ability to adjust his lineups mid game which is instead of running rotations to T like some coaches

This Nebraska game will be interesting. If you're Diebler, you really have nothing to lose. Go ahead and pull out all the stops.

Nebraska has been steamrolling teams lately. I would absolutely press the hell out of Nebraska. Diebler would be a fool to not try and exploit the one weakness the Huskers have, the lack of true point guard, especially since OSU has strength in numbers. None of this "be yourself" nonsense - this OSU team is 13th in the B1G for a reason. They will get killed if they try to play it straight and the Huskers play like they have lately. Nebraska is bigger, stronger, tougher, has been better coached and shoots better. They have the best D in the B1G - don't try and beat your head against a brick wall all game when you can avoid it sometimes. We'll see if Diebler has the balls to change the way the team plays to fit the matchup.

Have been impressed with Diebler's choice and timing of substitutes during games. He's shown a willingness to put in freshmen players in critical times. Certainly these young 'uns sometimes shy away from doing what a upper classman would do, not wanting to screw up, as we've seen when the ball gets passed around the horn and then back again without someone hoisting a needed 3-ball. But that's the way these youngsters get seasoning and experience. Anyone else noticed a significant change in substitution patterns during the last few games? I wonder if Diebler does in fact make a good case for himself, but the AD adds a 'homerun' hire (or what appears to be) will that new coach keep Diebler, given that he could very well be his successor? If tOSU requires/demands that the new coach keep Diebler, I would demand a higher payout guarantee due to the successor in my coaching staff. Just me....and my thoughts.

If they win out and win a couple in the BigTen tournament, they have a chance I would think.
It's possible. I hope we beat ttun at home and then Rutgers. Then we need a solid showing in the B1G to stand a chance.

Hell of a win tonight regardless, proud of our boys and staff for fighting so hard to round out the season. Diebler is at least a candidate at this point and a strong one imo, no way in hell CH would have the team playing this well. We need to leave no stone unturned for sure, but Diebler needs strong consideration. Let's finish this out right with an ass beating of the skunk weasels and Rutgahs, then see what happens.
