Oh good point. With us #1 if we win the next 3 we are likely 1 or 2 when Michigan rolls around.

So if we are #1 and lose to Michigan… then what? Going to be some pissed off teams sitting at #5

The B1G currently by far is in the best position for 2 teams if the opportunity were to open. It’s not completely there yet but if it does start to open up you’ll start seeing other conferences/non B1G teams starting to jump on board the “punish them now” train

It is telling how the Fox talking heads are down playing it while ESPN's are making a big deal of it.

It's almost as if these people aren't giving their personal opinions, but rather got the memo from the suits on how to play it...or something. :roll1:
This is the annoying part of the all information all the time in every way all at once age. There's so much hyped up bullshit, the reaction is to treat everything like a PR problem. That doesn't work when its not just manufactured outrage. These assholes are really cheating and in the context of college football, that's a real problem.

The pedo story is obviously gross, but in my book, that really is a nothing story as it relates to UM. They found out about it, they fired him. What else are they supposed to do? It’s not like they kept him on staff and tried to bury the story.

They’re still cheating whores, though.

Think of it like state and federal jurisdiction issues. The NCAA can’t force the big ten to do anything.

That’s why Michigan isn’t cooperative.
Exactly. Klatt wants to honor the NCAA process while dis-honoring the BIG TEN process. Both have the right and obligation to adhere to their own authority, rules and policies. If those rules and policies differ, then so be it. The BIG has the authority and obligation to act on its own, if it deems necessary.

Key excerpts:

However, a decision from the league is uncertain, though options have been discussed. On their calls over the last week in fact, high-level school administrators and Petitti have pored over a wide range of possibilities. There was talk, for instance, of any penalty not impacting players directly. A suspension of coach Jim Harbaugh may be the most likely and “cleanest” penalty if one were handed down, one source said.

Such a penalty from a conference is somewhat unprecedented and, if too severe, could eventually trigger legal action from the program, legal experts tell Yahoo Sports.

As I anticipated, seems the compromise may be Harbaugh's head on a spike.

Starting to eat their own up north.

Lol the “maybe they needed more evidence!” Excuse on the comments. As if the fucking video isn’t enough.

Michigan at least fired the guy quickly once they found out. I’ll give them that at least. So it’s really not that big of story when it comes to the university. It still is a bad look though, for the Michigan people who held it, trying to bury it from ever seeing light of day in the news cycle.

So, the coordinators, who are seen on the sidelines taking info from Wylde Stallyons get to keep coaching?

The problem I have with, "any penalty not impacting players directly," is that it's too late for that. You've had players for the last 2 years who have had a level playing field taken away from them. Players who should have had an opportunity to win 1 (or 2, or 3) more games in their careers. Players who quite possibly have had 2 pairs of gold pants taken from them. Every player who has played against those cheaters for the last 2 1/2 years has been directly impacted.

first 14 minutes

The main takeaway is the observation that Petitty is a tv guy who is predisposed to protecting the tv product

that means doing nothing right now

i would add that it means doing nothing until the clock hits zero on The Game.

and if the Buckeyes TCB that means the league does nothing, full stop

The problem with this is that Pebooby would then be commissioner of a league where 13/14 ADs and 13/14 of the coaches of your primary revenue generating product want you fired and/or dead. And make that 4-for-4 of the incoming members
