I think you guys let the lack of news over the weekend get to you. I am pretty sure i saw the doomsayers come out last monday too. Then the weekday comes back and news starts leaking and we all feel better again. I disagree with anyone say thing BIG isnt going to do anything. Not because i think they are some beacon of justice but because the BIG represents 14 schools (about to 18) and ALL OF THEM BUT ONE want something done. I would be both shocked and dissapointed if the big doesnt act bigly. are they worried about punishing a big dollar player, of course. are they more worried about tOSU, PSU, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, ect ect deciding the conference is toothless and no longer worrying about their edicts? I would certainly hope so.
Do we really want to unleash USC into a lack of enforcement free for all?

According to TCUN “insiders”…

They’re going to expose the investigation firm, show that they had practice film stolen, show that maybe practice was filmed, that their signs were stolen (and traded), and I guess recruiting violations by Ohio State lol…

They’re nuts… from their president to their fans.

They’ve tasted victory and are terrified to go back to where they were.

100%. They went from being a washed up national program under Carr to a laughingstock under RichRod and Hoke. Harbaugh was supposed to be their new Bo and instead couldn't even win his own division without cheating. Now they're public enemy #1, they'll be lucky to escape with anything less than a multi-year bowl ban and 3 seasons of forfeits, and they've tarnished the program for the rest of time. All for 2 B1G titles and 2 embarrassing CFP losses.

The amount of jackasses that think anything damning will come from whoever it was that initiated the private investigation is ridiculously high. They’re desperate to throw any amount of shit at the wall in hopes even one thing sticks.

A lot of false bravado being pumped into the ether hoping to scare anyone and everyone into not punishing them. These dumbasses really think they'd go through weeks of terrible press and allegations only to keep their powder dry until after they're punished? That's not how this works.

Depends on Ono… if the NCAA hits them hard I don’t think he’ll survive given his lack of effort to do anything about this.

I think they’ll want a clean slate if it goes down like I think it will next year
I hope so. I also think that perhaps the public humiliation (which is what they fear the most) might cause them to cut him loose. I'll be hopeful, but that piece of shit just seems to embody the "when good things happen to bad people" trope. I'd love to see him fail spectacularly in a nationally publicized manner.

In any event, the SEC might not be a bad fit for them. Ono is certainly handling this like an SEC President.

Regardless if there was any early suspensions, it was always going to come down to tOSU beating scUM.

Which is why The Game is as significant this year as it was last year. Possibly even more so - revenge AND affirmation for the Bucks and the coaching staff.

We don't need Penn State to win, but if they physically took a toll, while possibly exposing some weaknesses - that would go a long way towards helping us. All the while we get young DBs playing time as the starters rest and get healthy.

Edit: worth pointing out how close we are to another potential #1 vs #2 matchup.

Only way to truly make this right for the immediate future is to beat them on the field. Plain and simple.

Like, I dunno about much in the way of legal defenses , as long as they fulfill the due process requirement here

which is no shit, only this:

10.3.1 Commissioner’s Discretion, Timeliness, and Due Process. The Commissioner has the discretion to pursue, or choose not to pursue, an investigation as to whether an offensive action has occurred. In the event the Commissioner decides to pursue such an investigation, the Commissioner shall commence the investigation as expeditiously as possible upon notification that such an offensive action may have occurred. Upon commencement of such an investigation, the Commissioner shall determine, as expeditiously as possible, whether an offensive action did occur. Any involved institution or individual at risk of disciplinary action shall be provided an opportunity, which may be waived, to offer its or his or her position as to whether an offensive action occurred. The timeframe within which an institution or individual shall provide its or his or her position shall be set by the Commissioner, and shall be reasonable in light of the circumstances. Upon determination that an offensive action did occur, the Commissioner shall, as expeditiously as possible, determine whether disciplinary action should be imposed, and if so, what it should be.

The other kicker is...

10.3.3.2.1 Interim Action. Prior to receiving approval, the Commissioner may impose as interim action any lesser disciplinary action (i.e., any disciplinary action for which prior approval would not be required), which shall be in effect until the JGEC has had the opportunity to review and act upon any proposed major disciplinary actions.

Which basically means you don't have to pick between "Standard" and "Major" actions up front, the Commissioner can impose the minor one at his discretion while JGEC can review a major infraction.

So, and I'm sorry I got 30 pages behind over the weekend and as a result, I skimmed a lot. Do we know if the B1G has notified them that they are likely to be the subject of disciplinary action, because that's step 1. (Well, I mean other than the cheating)

That happened Friday when Pettiti met with Ono ....

Adding a few days for the shit stains to figure out their position only strengthens the BIG's position regarding any attempt to get a TRO.

In situations like this it is sometimes hard to find the space between being naive and being cynical. IMHO this is the latter. I think it’s too early to say the CUNTS are going to get away with it. We may not know anything until February. Or we might find out something this week; but even if something is announced this week, it’ll still be too early to say that we’ve heard the end of it
I'm drawing on the double reverse negative anti-karma here...

And 25+ years of working in and around the Federal bureaucracy. If it were as open and shut (it never was) as we thought, it would be easy. The Big Ten bitching out (because that's what it is) is just like someone not wanting to make a decision and booting it "upstairs" to their supervisor.

In my view it was far easier for the NCAA to give some desultory "punishment" while the money flows in than to take any actual stand.

Maybe they prove me right, maybe they prove me wrong. I hope I'm wrong, but life experience tells me otherwise. And yeah, it's cynical. So what, it's a cynical world we live in.

And the TSUN signed off on all of this by being a member of the conference. The more resistance and arrogance that they show, the harder the hammer is going to fall. And, be assured, the NCAA is keeping a close watch on everything. There is a dark cloud over Ann Arbor and a costly storm is on it's way. I long for the day that their idol is cast to the ground and shattered into pieces.
