Read through the ESPN article about the ADs talking with the big ten.

This guy Petitie really isn’t aware of what’s going on… seriously he doesn’t know and has to talk with the NCAA to be filled in? How does that happen???
Personal opinion … 2 thoughts:
1.) The ncaa has all of the evidence that was shared in the WaPo article. Pettitie wants access to it.
2.) Just want to be sure there isn’t any problem with any “unprecedented” steps as a conference.

He won’t. He’s happy wearing Jims cock like a ball gag and being tangentially close to football success under his tenure. He’s a jock sniffing academic that’s too insulated from outside noise and too stupid in football IQ to realize how bad this is.
Yes. Reiterating he thinks its a PR problem not a competition problem.

I hope the commissioner of the Big Ten is busy in administrative shit and negotiating TV contracts to get more exposure for women’s sports, hockey, etc, and not reading message boards and refreshing Twitter every 5 minutes hunting his next dopamine fix.

I’m sorry but all this “criticism” of Petitti is misplaced. He most likely, legitimately, thought this was a much smaller issue until the coaches set him straight yesterday. Folks, he’s not spending 14 hours of his day for two straight weeks reading about this stuff like we all are. And if he is, he should be fucking fired for that.

Eh I mean football is the bread winner and one of your top two programs is being investigated for more or less corruption.

Maybe he does know everything? But if he wasn’t aware of how serious this was that’s crazy talk.

hopefully he does the right thing though.

Goodnight BP.. you can now discuss your Brazzers search results.

The real crime there was that dumbass attorney who emailed Tressel to begin with.
This. This is the salient fact everyone glosses over. Tressel didn’t lie to protect the players or keep winning games, he lied to protect Chris Cicero, who was a former walkon WR at OSU when Tressel was the WR coach and later OC in the mid 80s.

Cicero was retained by Ray the tattoo guy, then tipped off Tress that there was a fuckton of memorabilia in the tattoo shop from current (and former) players via Jim’s osu.edu email account.

Jim lied about knowing because a confession would prove Cicero violated attorney/client privilege. Ray never ultimately retained Cicero as counsel, and Cicero was disbarred anyway.

I get various Facebook group posts from Scum groups on FB, even though I am not a member. Like the Winged Helmet

The DFBIA is seriously a cult. They have no idea why people are angry, and how they did anything wrong.

I don't get it at all.
Algorithms man lol… it knows I’m baited into arguments with these TCUN fans too and literally I get the same morons you mentioned

If this is true then his entire staff should be fired. He is the commissioner of an athletic conference. He should have someone who automatically looks for any news article on this conference. There have been enough articles on ESPiN, Yahoo, The Athletic, etc., not to mention the podcasters that someone on his staff should have noticed and told him, "Houston, we have a problem." I have a feeling he just had his head buried in the sand hoping it would go away.

And the University discovered those emails while responding to a FOIA request from Nebraska because they wanted to see what Tressel and Tom Osborne were saying to each other before Nebraska joined the B1G. And to their credit tOSU self-reported those emails rather than trying to hide their existence.

Agree to disagree. The conference commissioner being slow and measured in his reaction versus making judgements based on YouTube clips of Mike & Rico doing Detroit drive time radio is what I actually want to see.
Yes, I’m sure there are social media interns in Chicago monitoring this. But he needs to make a decision based on facts. He did not have those facts before yesterday or today because all the coaches didn’t want to touch that topic publicly.

He doesn’t have to drop the hammer for MSU or Purdue. He needs to make that decision before Penn St and Ohio St, because those are the only two games where an un-level playing field actually matters.

11 B1G schools had evidence of the porn pony buying tickets to games all over the conference. At least 1 of those had video evidence of someone videoing the game on his phone. Several outlets deemed reputable news outlets (not YouTube, not Mike & Rico) were reporting on this. There was video evidence of the porn pony being on the CMU sideline. There was enough smoke that if Pettiti didn't know there was a potential problem then it was because he didn't want to know. Was there enough coming out to convict? No. Was there enough to know he should be taking it seriously and looking into it? Yes. And it's convenient you cherry picked YouTube and Mike & Rico, while ignoring the sports news outlets I mentioned.
And I imagine MSU and Purdue might disagree that Harbaugh & Co. should be able to cheat against them but not against Ped St. or tOSU. The hammer should be dropped as soon as the B1G determines cheating has occurred, and that should be done as expeditiously as possible.
