If it actually turns out that there's nothing to this, then my opinion of Herbie has finally turned southward. I mean, to go on national TV and report wholly unsubstantiated rumors and name specific players like that would be unacceptable.

Unsubstantiated? Maybe. But I'm sure he has a pretty good handle on whats really happening.
Think about it, if guys on this messageboard have solid sources, then you cant tell me that Herbie doesn't have even better ones...

he reported that tv stations in columbus have reported. all of that is factual. the question is the validity of the potential allegations, rumors whatever you want to call them reported by every news outlet in columbus-tv, radio, and print...

He doesn't know...Herbie knows as much as we do, probably less. To name those names was irresponsible. He just decided to name the best players he could think of. If ANY of those players are found out not to be involved in this, I hope we all rememeber his decision to mention those names. You could tell he did it on his own, as far as the names.

This is the lamest NCAA investigation I have ever heard of. Tattoos? Really? Somebody might miss a bowl game because of a tattoo? Pathetic. Half the kids on both Arkansas's and OSU's rosters can't construct a sentence and yet we continue to try and salvage the amateurism of this sport.

Hey, if it turns out to be substantiated, then I've no problem with him reporting it obviously.

So let me get this straight....
Reggie Bush incident takes years to come to the fore although it is in court testimony...

Cam Newton and Auburn is said rumored to be implicated in a play for pay scheme which may or may not still be developing...and which has taken some time to come out into the public realm by the media....

OSU guys get some free tattoo (allegedly) and it comes out during the same football season and within 24 hours of the rumors mill....

Lesson....Get caught by the FBI and in sworn testimony....the process will take some time.

Mess with the IRS..the news is all over the town immediatly...that or maybe ESPN still has a grudge against the Bucks...I honestly can't make sense of the world or the college players these days....:(

I have been on ESPN all day (tv and internet) and only mention was when Herbie just talked about it at the end of the game. Unless you think ESPN is somehow behind the scenes...

I hope what you meant by "can't construct sentences" is a reference to them being very young and not a shot at their intelligence.

Hopefully Tattoo-Gate won't keep the tOSU players off the field.
We want tOSU at full strength when we put a beat down on on "THE" Ohio St. Buckeyes in NOLA!

Herbie has proven before, he's an analyst, not a reporter. He doesn't have sources because that's not his job.
