A note to fairweather Buckeye fans...

I'm not really a fairweather fan, but I admit to being a bandwagon fan. Jumped on with the Super Sophs and I'll leave when they pry my cold dead fingers off. I admit I was frustrated Saturday, but never considered booing or blaming an individual who I assumed was doing his best.

Will be in 30C Saturday cheering like crazy.

:oh:

I'd say after that many years you've earned the title of fan. We all have to jump on at some point.

Here's my note: The rack with the Miami Heat, NY Yankees, LA Lakers, and Duke basketball shirts is over there. Now fuck off and don't come back.

(I should say there's nothing inherently wrong with supporting those teams, I'm just speaking to the shirt-jumpers and hat-jumpers who dive to another every time someone loses...ah screw it. Y'all know what I mean)

I'm sorry - anyone who boos their OWN TEAM, is not a fan.

I'll boo the Browns. They're professionals and if they're clearly not putting forth an effort, and not at least trying to be competitive, I'm not going to lie, they'll get some boos from me.

The Bucks are amateurs. They're limited on how many hours they can be on the football field. They have other obligations.

I'm not going to boo Bauserman taking a sack because a walk-on fullback who's in the game because of an injury misses a blitz coverage...but I'll boo a WR making $800k a year for not blocking on run plays if it costs a turnover or no-gain in a key situation.

Simple as that.

People who boo their own team aren't fans? So people who spend money on tickets, parking, concessions and souvenirs aren't fans because they boo? They're fans. They just aren't wearing blinders.

Guess you and I have VERY different definitions of what a true fan is.
I don't care HOW much shit you bought, WHAT it cost you to be at the game, you do NOT boo your own team. For me, there's absolutely no leeway on that subject - same people might as well boo their kids peewee team when they're losing, too, while they're at it.
Why do you think they get ridiculed on TV, being called "boo-birds?"

Never done it, never will - and I'VE had to live through the Jacory Harris shennanigans, Kenny Kelly, Brock Berlin, Derrick Crudup, Kirby Freeman, Kyle Wright, Frank Costa, and plenty more!

I haven't given up on my Browns, Indians and Cavs. Why would I give up on my Buckeyes whom I love a million times more than the pro Cleveland teams. Lets go out there and support this team win or lose even if it is Colorado and quit this booing [Mark May] IT'S A GAME AND THEY ARE KIDS.

Just ignore them. From today's NY Times:

Rank School Conference Fans
1. Ohio State Big Ten 3,167,263
2. Michigan Big Ten 2,921,066
3. Penn State Big Ten 2,642,275
4. Notre Dame Independent 2,261,738
5. Texas Big 12 2,250,310
6. Texas A&M Big 12 2.030,188
7. Auburn S.E.C. 1,900,389
8. Alabama S.E.C. 1,879,881
9. Florida S.E.C. 1,811,922
10. Clemson A.C.C. 1,761,162
Clemson over Nebraska shocks me. Thought everyone in Nebraska was a fan. That's at least 1.7 million, right?

Hey guys I know I dont post here often, as I am deployed a lot. But Im now back in San Diego CA. When the buckeyes lose I here from people I havent talked to in 10 years talking trash because of course nothing is better to everyone else than to hate the buckeyes. I must tell you living here in California that the fan base is mainly USC but on the flip side I always where my Ohio State T-shirts with pride to work every single day and at least once or twice I will get an OH from somre random person. Its a great feeling even after coming off a loss where everyone seems down. Like you all say we will make it through this and be #1 once again because thats what we do. Go Bucks!
