a tribute to the guys who stepped up big

has anyone mentioned that this Senior class has tied the '98 class for the most wins in Ohio State history with 42, and could set the mark in the Orange Bowl?

No, because the record is 43, by the class from 95-98. A bowl win would tie the record, not break it.

1995: 11-2-0
1996: 11-1-0
1997: 10-3-0

Sirjo caused the fumble on Michigan's kick return after Holmes' 26 yard TD (the one where he took a flag for diving in to the EZ.. BS call)

I thought #35, Nick Patterson, knocked the ball loose from the scUM fullback. I might have to watch the game again to make sure, but that's OK.

Watching the replay yesterday, Pitcock and Green played great games. Along with Schlegel, they almost completely shut down the middle. It was a thing of beauty.

Stan White providing Prescott Burgess with some end zone seating to view Pittman's game-winning TD was very sweet. Son of a true Buckeye, coming from Maryland because that's where his dad played Pro ball, showing a non-buckeye how to play with the game on the line. Burgess also had a bird's-eye view of Santonio's TD, since he was shadowing him on that route.

I just rewatched the game and a play that really stuck out to me was the 3 & 11 in Michigan's next to last possesion. If you remember they had a holding penalty that was declined by Tress (talk about confidence in your defense and a great refusal of a penalty) and scUM threw the screen to Breaston that had previously gotten 10-12 yards a couple times. The first Buckeye there was Pitcock. It showed tremendous speed. The next three players there were Schlegal, Green, and Brandon Mitchell. Love to see these "blue collar" players make sch a critical play. If Breaston gets that first down.....

All the props given here are worthy of praise for such an outstanding game effort. The turnovers we had, resulted in points for Michigan and beyond that, one can only think what the score would have been without those T/O's.

Whatever the offensive game plan was, it seemed to be working at times. This team of 2005 has or had such great talent that they very well could have been in line to play in the Rose/Bowl. We came so close, oh so very close.

I may take some flak over this but I think Jim Bollmen and jon Petersen should be given some credit for putting together a pretty good offensive line this year. I hope that everything is coming together in our O/L strategies for the coming years. Just alittle tweeking here and there should prove to be for better things to come. Maybe around the time of the next bowl game hopefully.

Don't forget Dr. Ginn and Mr. Hyde

I think everyone has uncovered the hidden heros (yo,BuckUpNorth).

Also hidden in this game was Ginn's 'Heinz Ward-esque' performance game leading 9 receptions for 89 yards by TG. I know, I know, he needs to get the tinted eye shield gizmo(seriously) so he can handle punts on sunny days.

But saturday, his repertoire had a little bit of everything, including one handers, sideline tight-roping, and keen awareness of the first down marker. If you didn't know him, you'd think he was a blue collar possession receiver.

What a memorable Wonderful f'n game!!!

I knew that JT would pull something big this week that scUM had not seen from us all year. Last year it was B. Joe at TB. I stood in the shower and imagined Ginn at TB, Hall at TE, two QBs etc. I nearly shit myself when I saw Tyree at TE. What a brilliant move. Tressel understands that he must play to win and he saves something special for the biggest game and it will never be before November.
