Activate the Bat Signal - hatehineygate asks a simple question

Does Rogers even rush the passer? I cant remember him doing anything against the passing game, but he is outstanding against the running game and Field Goals.

Ward looks like a situational guy so far. Big hitter, but he needs to wrap up(FB TD in the second qtr), doesn't look like he has the speed to keep up.

One thing is for sure, GB is going to be a force this year.

outside of the GB comments, nothing here is accurate.

1. rogers lead the team in sacks in 2008 fro the NT spot.
2. cleveland actually like rubin better at NT because he actually plays his assignments, and doesn't freelance, allowing them to get gashed in the run game.
3. TJ Ward showed well in his first game ever, against one of the best qb's and best offenses in the nfl. how that equates to a situational player is baffling logic.

Red Ball, if you follow the Browns, you probably know that they are going to move Rogers to defensive end once he is ready to go with the improvement of Rubin. There will be much more difficult for the offense to black Rogers coming from the outside.

I think Ward will be just fine given some time. As stated above, he was beaten last night by some excellent throws.

I didnt say anything about him playing DE/NT?

I think Ward will be fine too, but given his college career and some of the things I saw last night I dont think he is a full time starter. I am excited to see him plugged in against some run heavy teams, he will be awesome. Just wish he would wrap up more.

Very excitd to see Rubin. Big time problem causer in the middle.

You can keep bringing that up, but you are the one that was claiming McCoy was far superior to Clausen.

I dont see why you keep bringing this up.

Let's see here....

One actually accomplished something in College, the other looks like an Emu.

the below certainly implies that. It is much easier for a DE to rush a passer than an NG.

nt Pashos supposed to take over for St Clair?
currently injured way to keep up on the Browns
Lauvao starts: Guard Shawn Lauvao was the third rookie pressed into a starting role when guard Floyd Womack sat out the game. The right side of the line is in a state of flux, with right tackle Tony Pashos sidelined with a shoulder injury. John St. Clair started in his place.

That doesnt imply anything

Obviously he didnt play, he was listed with all of the other injuries before the game. I was asking if he was suppoed to start over St Clair this year, hoping I wouldnt have to watch the same poor results from the right side. I wasnt sure if they were going to look at Pashos as a G or not due to his age.

Sure it does. It implies you know nothing about the Browns. Shaun Rogers isn't a LB or a DB

no, you said that rogers hasn't shown he can rush the passer, which is blatantly false.

you saw a rookie safety playing his first game ever against one of the best qb's and best offenses in the nfl, and you're dismissing him because aaron rogers put a perfect pass to a 1,000 wr which ward had covered fairly well.

so, once again, nothing you said was correct.

I was asking if his pass rush skills were that awesome, because I honestly couldnt remember him taking over a game as a pass rusher. I didnt say he hasnt shown the ability to rush the passer.

I dont want to make this an issue, so I am asking you to quit nicely. You obviously have an issue because you are just making things up to start a fight. Grow up.

His job in the 3-4 defense is not to rush the passer. His job is to occupy blockers so that other guys can rush the passer. The problem is that the Browns' have had such a limp-dick pass rush for the last few years that a guy who wasn't supposed to be getting the sacks actually led the team.

i have no issue with anything aside from you stating things that were factually incorrect. if calling you on it is "making things up to start a fight" in your mind, then you have other issues to deal with. you've clearly shown in the last 3 pages of this thread that you don't know what you're talking about. so, yes, at this point quitting nicely is the best thing you can hope for.

Somehow I made FACTUALLY incorrect statements there and implied Shaun Rogers wasnt going to play DE.

I think I see what the real issue is here. Comprehension, on your part.
