I don't really see how this stays close. Akron won one game last season, and may have been the worst team in the country. tOSU is going to be playing with fire and passion, and while I anticipate some sloppy moments (like most openers), it shouldn't be the least bit competitive. Something like 58-7 sounds about right, with no points against the starting defense. I expect a complete and balanced offensive attack for 4 quarters while still trying to make a decision on a starting quarterback, and due to this we shouldn't see strictly handoffs in the 4th quarter like we might have seen in the previous regime, and therefore more points.

I'm excited. I'll be bringing my girlfriend up and we have a great spot, albeit south endzone. I'm just excited to walk in again and see that field, hear the excitement, welcome the band back into a new year, and most importantly, see our Buckeyes go to work again. There aren't many things in life that bring me more joy than Saturday afternoons in the horse shoe. I can't wait to see some new guys out there against Akron!

This season is a bit different than the last 8-10.

First off Fickell isn't Tressel. I believe he will go balls out trying to impress the brass.

Second, these players are tired of hearing that they will suck this year. Normally they are getting told they will easily win the Big Ten.

I think they are ready to give that good old fashioned "We just beat the [Mark May] out of that team" feeling.

Agree, Fickell really has a lot riding on this season (like a possible long term career as head coach at Ohio State vs unemployeed and applying for an assitant coaches position at some 2nd tier school). This is an "audition season" for Fickell, if he wants to stay he needs to make a statement with "an impact year".

I'm so [censored]ing pumped and it's only Tuesday. This [Mark May] keeps up and I'm going to have to break into the zoo and dismantle a kangaroo. Don't get in my way, Jungle Jack, or I'll do the same to you.
Bring it, cupcake.

Just to make sure, the Skull Session starts at 10am correct? For opening day, what time should I try and get there to be sure I can get in?

Anyone?

We were planning on leaving Cleveland around 6am. It's probably a 2 1/2 hour trip. Gives us an hour and a half to get in, park, and make it by the start of the session.
