Amaris Williams (DL Auburn)

11W Forums

Continuing on the Amaris Williams news, their ON3 insider was in Clinton, NC yesterday and talked to Amaris and some people surrounding his recruitment. He said from everything he’s heard, Ohio State is the team to beat and they feel Tennessee is 2nd. He said Amaris Williams is disappointed with the season Florida has had and is loving what he’s seen/heard from Larry Johnson. He believes Amaris Williams is a Buckeye before ESD.

AMARIS WILLIAMS

Williams made two visits to OSU this fall and has plenty of interest in Ohio State. While there’s no outright replacing the caliber of player Scott is, Williams would be a welcome addition with his 6-foot-3, 270-pound frame. While Williams is committed to Florida, there’s a very distinct possibility the North Carolina product eventually flips. Ohio State is considered the favorite, but Tennessee is also pursuing Williams and per 247Sports, there’s apparently another unnamed powerhouse team in pursuit of Williams.

@MSURacerDT55 do you think Williams could wind up at DT instead of DE? From my untrained eye, he looks like a bit of a tweener that could either maintain his weigh by shedding bad weight and adding good weight to stay at DE, or just start the build towards a DT body. I will take him wherever he lands, but I was thinking about that with the Scott decommit.
