I'll be getting one of the new iPhones though. I'm on a 4S with a dying battery and due for an upgrade.

Same. I still have the 4 :smash: Probably going with the 64GB 6. I don't know why any one would buy the 16GB for $199 when you can get 4x the storage for $100 more.

The bio data is what interests me. I'm turned off by the lack of integrated GPS though, since that means it doesn't cut ties with having to carry the iPhone for RunKeeper.

I'm in the same boat on the phone. I've still got a 4 that is woefully inadequate for playing any modern apps that require more horsepower, and it looks like I'll be locked out of the upgrade path on iOS 8 too. I was holding off on the upgrade to a 5 because I was waiting for today's reveal (I've always stayed one gen behind so I can get the phones for ~$49 or $99), but the 6 plus the watch next year seem juicy enough that I may go skip the 5 now and just get the iPhone 6.

Precisely. If they make it a standalone device where I can use Zombies, Run! or something like that without having to lug my phone around, that would be killer. I understand the need to make them co-dependent, but I would like to be able to use each of them independently for some functions.

I'm probably going with the 6+, 64GB. I've long preferred not to have a huge screen on a phone - it's not like I'm going to be using it to compose text or watch movies when I have a full-size tablet already. I've come to realize that a wider screen means that they can pack a larger battery in the thing. If the advertised difference in battery life between the 6 and the 6+ is anywhere near true that would make it worth it to go with the larger one. Also, the materials have come far enough that I just don't feel the need to add extra protection. Going without a case would mitigate the added bulk of a larger device.

With so much stuff moving to the cloud there are plenty of people who simply don't need as much on-board storage as they used to.

I'm not one of them. I want my entire music collection on the device itself. There is a significant difference to me in performance and convenience with integrated storage.

That said, for years I was clamoring for a 128GB model. That day is arriving, and I'll probably forego it.

I'm hopeful that this watch craze will mature into slick, polished devices. It is too soon for me to adopt. It is interesting seeing Apple trail the competition when it comes to that innovation (especially since it was a pretty obvious one)
Check out the Moto X

the blind faith people don't want to hear this (not saying it's people on here) but Apple is behind on the technology with phones
Which adds some neat functionality, the kind that used to emerge from Cupertino. It is an excellent budget phone and they recently released a higher end cousin.

As for autx, I love the LG g2 and will likely enjoy the g3 even more. Nice size without becoming a phablet

and market fixing pipelines for wired and wireless data. The cloud is useless if my regular browsing puts me over the limit every month.

YES.

The cloud sucks for music. It's great for light productivity and archiving though and when used in that manner doesn't run into the constraints of wireless data service as much. That's where I'm seeing the benefit and the decreased need for upgraded storage. My music by itself fits on a 64GB device without a problem, but when you combined that with old photos (just in case I wanted to show them) or seldom-used apps (just in case I needed to use one of them) I've gone from having to keep those things on my device to leaving them off and being able to retrieve them on-demand. I've gone from pressing right up against my storage limit and making compromises to using most of my space but not having to worry about the limit.

I got the 4S when it first came out, skipped the 5 to wait for the 5S, and got 5S when it came out. I was going to follow the same M.O. with the 6/6+, but I think I'll just go ahead and get the 6+ after the initial feeding frenzy dies down...

I need to get my daughter a phone in November, so debating on the free 5c for her or giving her my my 5s and getting a 6. I still have all my music on an ipod classic 60gb. Headphone jack no longer works (sound in one ear only), but still plays fine on a dock.

Verizon offering up to $200 for trade in on the 6. They'll even give me $199 for my 4.....I plan on trading it for the 64GB 6 and just pay $100 for it. The offer stands until 9/30.

The 6 is a fantastic phone. I cannot believe how big it is though. When I first opened the box, I was wondering if they sent me the 6+!

I love the curved features, that i missed from the iPhone 3 and before. Glad they brought that back.
