Game Thread BCS National Championship Game: tOSU 24, LSU 38 (final)

Tough loss, indeed. I'm not taking it as hard as last year, but I still cannot get myself to read anything the media or the team has to say about the game.

We played sloppy, and once the momentum shifted to LSU (after the blocked FG, I believe), it seemed like LSU flat-out intimidated and overpowered us, hence the personal foul (frustration) penalties. They got in our head, and we were never able to overcome that; the sign of a young team.

I had a conversation with my Buckeye friends last night after the game about whether it's better to win, say, the Rose Bowl or lose in the National Championship game. I think playing in the NC is an invaluable experience for the guys. Even though we may come up short, it puts our program and our players in the biggest stage, which can do nothing but help our program. I can't wait for the 08 recruiting class to come in and join the current group. We're going to have an amazing team next year!

It will be interesting to see which juniors decide to stay now. Who wants to come back and try again for that NC?

Until the Bucks strap on the pads next season, let's cheer on our Buckeye basketball teams!

Man I hope Prior decides to be a Buckeye! I would start him immediately but of course I'm not Jimbo. I think thats what Prior is looking for as well....somewhere that he can go and get immediate playing time.....hell maybe we can crank up the old Shot-Ginn package once again.....maybe shuttle the QB's in and out like Cooper in the old days!:biggrin:

Their receivers are better than our corners, nuff said. Also, they have an option quarterback in waiting, I wasn't saying it wouldn't work, you just need to have an accurate QB and receivers who can beat the corners they are playing against.
I agree, and this is what the SEC has, its not really the speed thats the issue. Dimitrious Stanly made a good point last night about big ten teams are so use to seeing zone with a much larger window to throw the ball, vs. most of the teams in the sec that run man and the window is much smaller. Receivers also have to get open, i give lsu's db's a ton of credit, they locked our guys down most of the night. If we do still manage to reel in TP, we should use him like florida used Tebow his 1st year.

I don't recall us throwing to the TE all night, which I think was there with the rush LSU was coming with.

I wondered about that too, especizally with the buzz about moving Schoenhoft to TE. I think they had to keep the tight end on blocking detail due to Dorsey. LSU and Florida sure knew what to do with a tight end.

Yup, and their TE burned us twice. Marcel Frost. Motherfuckers.

It's not going to happen. Everyone who you think will go the NFL will. Terelle Pryor will play for Michigan. Ohio State will get hammered in Los Angeles against USC in September. I wish I could stay positive but it is just not hapenning. It will take Ohio State 5 years to get back into the National conversation. All seems dark. I hope tomorrow will be better. I hope Ohio State does not become a museum to the past.

Are you for real? 5 losses in 3 years, 3 BCS games, two NC game appearances, 3-0 vs. UM.

Yeah, feel free to leave. Don't break your head diving off the bandwagon. Pathetic.
