BCS Title Game: ND + 9.5 vs Alabama (ov/un 41.5)

Bama can be beat with a good passing QB. Manziel did it, Murray (who is definitely above average) almost did it, Tyler Wilson might have done it although not with the idiot who was coaching at Arkansas this season. For this reason we do not match up well with Bama.

If we want to win a future title game, Braxton needs to improve his passing game a LOT. Exponentially.

Uhm.. Bama is decent against the pass... They got their shit pushed in when Georgia and A&M ran the ball....

Gonna state the obvious here but it all comes down to the play of the lines... If bama's oline is playing like they did in the 2 half verse gawja... Its lights out

bama's secondary is average at best.

Mettenberger threw for a cunt hair under 300 against them.
and Mett struggled to hit 200 against most of the rest of our schedule.

Not to dispute much... I agree they are average but I was more referring to Johnny Football running for almost a hundo and Gurley who went for 122, and your boy Hill who went for over a hundo...

regardless.. this isn't the world better bama defense that we've been force fed for the last few years.

on a complete side note:

I would like to formally apologize to all fans of this board that are rooting for ND to lose. The Championship game falls on my birthday this (next) year. The last Championship that happened on my birthday was the 06.. I'm just saying its probably about 99% chance ND wins because I'm rooting for Bama.

I think Notre Dame matches up very well with Bama. AJ McCaron is woefully average and holds the ball WAY too long in the pocket. Notre Dame forces pressure without blitzing and could cause problems for him all night. It will be interesting to see if Notre Dame's linebackers can step up and stop the run.

As far as offense goes, Brian Kelly will have to have Everett Golson ready to go. They need to cut him lose running the ball. Bama's defense reminds me of the bears defense; Big, physical, but tends to wear out if you make them run.

I think I'll be rooting for the Domers. I really wanted Georgia to win because I'd like to see Mark Richt win one.

Notre Dame has looked very average against a much easier schedule, which has flattered their defense a bit.

In comparison to Alabama? I dunno, Irish played 9 bowl eligible teams, 0 FCS teams. 10 AQ eligible teams, with the other two being BYU and Navy. While it isn't as relevant, the Irish had the #4 SoS at the beginning of the season while Alabama had #53. Granted, USC and Michigan State fell way short of their projected win totals, but no worse than Auburn and Arkansas. The final SoS was much closer, I think ND was at #8 while Alabama was at #15, certainly not an easy schedule though.
