Every time I see Rush, it just gets better and better. Most recently was the Vapor Trails tour- I saw them twice in Philly, once outdoors, once indoors.

Others:
Metallica, Ride the Lightning tour ('84-'85) in a small theatre, before they got huge.
KMFDM at the Agora in Cleveland.
The Ramones at the Newport in Columbus.
The Brecker Brothers- Randy Brecker and Micheal Brecker (jazz). The band included Mike Stern on guitar and Dennis Chambers on drums. Fucking amazing.
Chick Corea Electric Band (jazz) several times. One show had Herbie Hancock as the opener. Awesome.
Joe Satriani, Surfing With the Alien tour in a small theater in Detroit. Had Stu Hamm on bass, Jonathan Mover on drums.

There are probably others I"m forgetting.
