That turf couldn't hold Sooner speed and the Trojans move so much slower than us that they never gave themselves a chance to slip.
Speed slips, period. It worked to USC's advantage to be so slow in this game, but under normal circumstances that wouldn't be the case. </td></tr><tr bgcolor="#f5f5dc"><td nowrap="nowrap" width="20%" valign="top" align="left">

How about slipping caused 3 turnovers inside our own 40 yard line! YIKES! <!--EZCODE FONT START-->

To me it is pretty easy to fix that problem....if the other team isnt slipping look at their freaking cleats and see what they are using and then change yours. Now if both teams are slipping then that is a different story....but you have to change something. Also talk to the home team ie....Miami Dolphins for the Orange Bowl and find out which cleats they are using....common sense to me. </td></tr><tr bgcolor="#ffffff"><td nowrap="nowrap" width="20%" valign="top" align="left">

Geez, it's bad enough to get spanked in all areas of the game but to be constantly falling down ala sniper style is just sad. </td></tr><tr bgcolor="#f5f5dc"><td nowrap="nowrap" width="20%" valign="top" align="left">

The field looked recently sodded, which doesn't allow the roots enough time to grow in, and consequently there are huge chunks dislodged on players' cuts. I doubt that we had the same cleats that the trojans did, either. </td></tr><tr bgcolor="#ffffff"><td nowrap="nowrap" width="20%" valign="top" align="left">

There is not doubt that the freakshow that took place in the first half was partly caused by our players footing.
I heard that USC got the opportunity to practice underneath the lights at the OB. Is it possible they got the opportunity to run full speed on that field and find out how f*cked up it was and OU did not?
In any case our equipment manager should have had the correct cleats in.
I wondered why AD was not taking the ball to the outside and then making his usual hard cuts up the field like he always does. Perhaps he knew he would slip down?

Actually this isn't entirely correct, Greg Tipton brought about 5-6 different pairs of shoes with cleat spikes etc... for the whole team.
Also a linebacker on the team that I happen to know very well has said multiple times, usually it's not about the shoes, but it's about the player making sure their weight is properly planted before trying to make a cut up field etc...
There is some truth to that I agree, but we did seem to be having an enormous amount of problems compared to USC. <!--EZCODE FONT START-->
