I don't want them either, but Delaney will do what Delaney does and I'm afraid that might include BC....

If he's going to go northeast, I'd rather have Syracuse but I don't want them either.

Yeah, I hear that. I have a feeling Delaney is going to hold out for a big time school for team #18 (as that COULD be the final team we take in expansion... unless super conferences break that 18 plateau) and not make a serious reach for a team like BC or Syracuse.

I know it will not be popular, but I bet #4 will be FSU at this point. FSU is not a fit because of no AAU membership, but the Florida television and recruiting market, and the reputation of FSU in football, do make them attractive for other reasons. Plus they want out of the ACC.

I hope that's what he is doing, but I'm not holding my breath at this point.

The only two teams that really fit the "big time" mold would be FSU and Ntre Ame unless for some reason Texas comes back onto the table.

I'm going to assume that both the University of Connecticut and University of Cincinnati are not freestanding, independent athletic departments like others (like Ohio State).

If each Big East school will be making less than $2 million per year from television, Gene Auriemma's contract alone is over $1.5 million.

Tommy Tuberville's base salary is about $1.6 million.

Kansas would be #20, not 24

15)UVA
16)UNC
17)Ga Tech
18)FSU
19)ND
20).....? Kansas? BC? Duke? anyone else?

It won't be Duke (NC market will be taken) or Kansas. I'd be ok with it being Texas

Unless they add UVA/UNC/GA Tech - the only endgame is 18 with Ntre Ame or FSU. 20 just doesn't seem logical given the potential teams out there.

I think they only go to 20 IF they get both FSU and ND

but you're right without both of those, they go to 18, or stay at 16 if they get neither

If the B1G added UNC, UVA and GT we would go into a pod system of some sort. The southern schools of the B1G could avoid most of the very northern schools during late November. I don't see weather as an issue.

The thing is though, it won't be an odd number. If they add 1, they will end up adding two....and if they add 3, it will end up being 4...

For #4: At one time Missouri was begging to get into the Big 10. Anyone think they would flip from the SEC to the Big 10?

I like Missouri a lot more than UConn, BC, Syracuse, Pitt, or the bearcraps, etc.

:tongue2:

I thought the SEC has the grant of rights thing the Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-12 all have? So a school like Vanderbilt or Missouri couldn't jump if they wanted to.

Judging from Mike Krzyzewski's constant comments on rivalries and attack on Maryland, I'm going to assume Duke is getting left out in the cold of any scenario. He won't stop going off on Maryland (or maybe it's actually UNC).
