Cinci will always = Reds and Kings Island for me. I don't think we ever did anything in Cincinnati, when I was a kid, other than those two things & then we got back to Columbus area by 1 AM. We mainly went to Cinci to see Pete Rose and Johnny Bench play. I never went to Cleveland until I was almost 19. When I was a kid there was no reason to go to Cleveland.

As for whether Juggalo is a commuter school. Here are their top 11 feeder schools this year. 9 (including the top 7) are squarely in the Cincy metro area, and the other two are located 20 and 40 miles away.

Top 10 Schools Represented by UC Freshmen Entering Baccalaureate Colleges
  1. William Mason High School
  2. Walnut Hills High School
  3. Oak Hills High School
  4. Lakota West High School
  5. Elder High School
  6. Colerain High School
  7. Saint Xavier High School
  8. Fairfield High School
  9. Centerville High School
  10. (tie) Sycamore High School, Lakota East High School

Is Eastbound just stupid? A know-nothing blowhard? Or is he blinded by Ohio State hatred that he needs to believe that Juggalo to the B12 will somehow damage Ohio State?

I'm not sure that's a meaningful statistic. Walnut Hills sent about 100 students to UC in 2015 out of a freshman class of of something like 6,500, or 1.5% of the total. I'd be surprised if any public state school had any one high school from another state that cracked the top 10 for representation. That includes top tier state universities like OSU.

I agree. I'm sure that all of Ohio Stste's top feeder schools are in Ohio as all oF Texas' are in Texas. My point is that all of Cincy's are in Cincy, none in Columbus or Cleveland. I'll do the research, but I'll bet that Ohio State's (and Fredo and OU) are a mix from the 3 C's, Dayton, Toledo and Akron. That's the difference between being a statewide institution and a local college.

And then there was this bit of galactic stupidity.

I'm starting to get a whiff of fear coming from Ohio. But I can see how a bearcat sporting Texas recruits must be a little intimidating knowing how that brings back miserable memories. But at least it's like never that you face them. Easy to see how they could easily become your daddy in head to heads.

Oxford and Athens are too small to supply enough students to fill the ranks at Fredo and OU, so they are going to look better than they deserve when it comes to the number of out of town students. I wonder if either area even has 10 high schools? OSU's has a lot more draw from the four corners of the state than any of the other universities in Ohio, but being in Columbus might tend to distort the statistics since Columbus produces a lot of students to begin with.

Edited to add: What I mean is that OSU could draw a lot more from Cincinnati than UC draws from Coulmbus, and still have nothing but Columbus high schools in the top 10.

I can't even figure out the point he's trying to make. Miserable memories of what?

They act like they blew us out those two games. In the real world, their greatest team EVERWITH the greatest QB EVER needed a last minute comeback and Ryan Hamby's stone hands to beat us in 05. Then Troy & Co thoroughly whipped their asses the next year. We weren't supposed to even be competitive with them in the Fiesta Bowl, but they needed to come back to barely beat us. AND since 2004-2009 are the only years that matter in the history of cfb, we're hopelessly embarrassed that they took 2 out of 3 from us.

Anyhow, I think Mongo is saying that, given some 3rd rate Texas recruits, the Juggalos will somehow take the all time series from us.

So, Juggalo thinks that Cincy will get a few Texas HS recruits if they end up in the BigXII and that'll make them better than Ohio State? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ohio State has played and beaten teams that had players from Texas right? And... I could be wrong here, but I think Ohio State has a former Texas HS player on its roster, right? Maybe a QB, HB, OL and such? Don't mean to speculate.

Longhorn. Mongo's quote was from the shag.

Cincy is going to pull better recruits than the Longhorns in Texas?

Cincy ain't pulling [Mark May]. I wish they'd STFU and get their shine box.

:bored:

This is why I don't want them to get in. It's going to be Ohio's BCS School level shit coming non-stop out of that ghetto campus. I don't want them to have even the satisfaction of a hollow triumph based on delusional fantasy. I want them to be fully aware that they are not now and never will be a god damned thing.

Good point about OU & MoO. I'd still venture that they have a much better draw around the state than Cincy rather than from just their own region.

For Ohio State
  1. William Mason (Cincy)
  2. Dublin Coffman (Cols)
  3. St X (Cincy)
  4. Dublin Jerome (Cols)
  5. Solon (Cleveland )
  6. Hilliard (Cols)
  7. Upper Arlington (Cols)
  8. Centerville (Dayton)
  9. Olentangy Liberty (Cols)
  10. Hudson (Akron)
So, this is what a school with a statewide presence should have as opposed to Cincy which essentially remains a metro area commuter school even if more of those locals spend a year in the dorms.
