I did hear they sold a buttload of Orangebloods subscriptions during the last 2 weeks. He may be full of crap, but it made their site some $$$$$

And he got thousands of new Twitter followers, proving that he's now a much bigger Twit than he used to be.

Reason #5438 why Shaggy Bevo is the greatest sports forum not named Buckeye Planet.

That voicemail is a misdemeanor under the Texas Penal Code!

Legit!

Statement Three: You are DeLoss Dodds' lapdog and things worse, actually much worse.
After reading over 200 similar e-mails the other night, I finally had one set me off and I called the writer. I'm a very competitive person and like many of you, I was raised not to back down when challenged. I've also got a bit of an Irish temper which came across in my voicemail. I regretted what I said as soon as I hung up. I should have been above that, and I made a mistake. For those of you who were offended by my response, I apologize, and I assure you that it will not happen again.
Damn that's funny.

I've been thinking the same thing. Nevada and Fresno State are the obvious ones to me, and the WAC should probably start looking for replacements for those two now. The WAC had 9 with Boise State so they'll be down to 8, could lose schools like Nevada and Fresno St, and could lose Louisiana Tech, who isn't thrilled with all of the travel they have to do. Unfortunately for La Tech, beggers can't be choosers and the Sun Belt is their only hope.
Where do you think LA Tech should go? I do think that Fresno would add some good firepower to the MWC, I wouldn't be surprised if they are added within the next 2 years. They put out some great individual talent, and very competitive teams who go toe-toe against many BCS conference teams.

Could LA Tech go to CUSA?

Could LA Tech go to CUSA?
I think LA Tech should move to the CUSA, simply because I imagine that the travel costs for them being in the WAC put a severe strain on the athletic department's resources. But does the CUSA put them in a better position competitively? I also think so, plus CUSA may need to fill a few more spots with the Big East possibly raiding them.

I'm too lazy to check out what kind of team LA Tech has had the past couple of years, but I doubt it's worthy of C-USA, which has some decent mid-majors. I think the Sun Belt is the only lower tier conference in the area, although they already have at least a couple of Louisiana schools.

I can't remember - do conferences have to have eight members or is that only a requirement to get a BCS bid? Can a lower tier conference exist with only six teams? I've heard that the WAC is looking at Montana for expansion, assuming Montana is ready to jump from I-AA (excuse me - FCS).

Division alignment

Now that we are 12 teams, should we do 2, 6 team divisions? Or what about going with 4, 3 team pods? The groupings should be fairly straight forward if you keep main rivals in the same pod. Then you can rotate the pods every other year to form divisions. The math works out pretty good for an 8 game conf schedule as well.

Pod A: Ohio St, Michigan, Indiana
Pod B: Penn St, Michigan St, Purdue
Pod C: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern
Pod D: Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois

2 teams from your own pod, 3 from your divisional pod, & 3 from your cross divisional pod. Then the "divisional" champs play the CCG. Every 2 years(for home & homes) the pods rotate to form new "divisions", just like the 4 team pod scenario discussed previously.

Any chance the new BIG X will do this?

FYI for yall, the sports talk guys this morning were going on about Arkansas putting out feelers and how ND to the "Texas and the 9 Dwarfs" makes so much since... .. I want to call up and say can you guys even read or have you even heard what your saying?

1) Arkansas aint comin back. Jerry just wants Jerry World to host a championship game
2) Even if the ND AD wanted to go ( heard he was a finalist for the big XII commish job before Beebe got it, and he's best buds with Dodds). The academic side of the house would never let it happen given the academic rep they have...

so frustrating
