I'm confused. According to earlier posts, there would be no ABC regional coverage of B10 games based upon the new agreement. Essentially we were told that ABC would either carry B10 games nationally or they would be picked up by the ESPN networks. I'm now seeing that the Iowa/Wiscy game is regional ABC and that you'll need GamePlan to see it.

Is this true? If so, so much for the "I don't need GamePlan anymore" bit...

The exception I always saw mentioned was for prime time games on ABC.

Never trust Customer Service Representatives

Yeah we waited all day Friday for it to be installed, no show... Called and bitched and ended up lowering the bill to 98 bucks (2 dollars more than we payed for standard cable and Earthlink) AND got the Cinemax and Showtime families for a year... They also accidentally gave us HD DVR.. So now were getting that for free too... We got a good deal going right now!

The "never trust customer service" comment is referring to the fact that DirecTV had promised to start transmitting the BTN in HD as of yesterday. I turned it on this morning, and it was still in SD.

Maybe they meant games? Of course, if that's the case the "19th" date makes little sense.
Yep, it isn't about the games - just the time when Sat 10 starts pumping HD content.
Reportedly on DBSTalk there was a memo that had come into the hands of one of forum contributors - it hinted at a start day of the 19th - should all go well with testing. (It didn't). This combined with some customers getting a 9/19 HD thumbs up from their CSR on the phone propagated that deadline.

The bottom line was always that 9/19 was a target, no official announcement of HD from their new Sat 10 was ever given by D* (which would have shown up in their News Releases, trumpeted from the rooftops).

When I see a news release from D* - that is when I will believe they will have all the HD pumping from the new satellite.

I consider their website official, and it says by the end of the month.

WHY?!?!?! That's a potential big matchup! I have a feeling that will change. ESPN or ABC will pick it up... I don't care if it's on ESPN U anymore!

according to ESPN.com, it's going to be on ABC....

Correct, along with Ntre Ame vs. UCLA. So, regional coverage, which means if you are out of the region, you can only get it on gameplan. It should be interesting for me living in Chicago. Big Ten HQ's are here, but it's NoD's biggest fan base, who are they going to show?

What the hell happened to No D and NBC?! No more love affair?
