"In today's world, there is more than games," Plonsky said. "What makes sports compelling is human interest."

A Longhorns channel could carry some live baseball, softball, soccer and women's basketball games, as well as competition in sports such as track and field, volleyball and swimming.

So in the absence of football & men's basketball, what they'd really have is the Longhorn Volleyball and Human Interest Network.

I guess it's still better than E:60

I watched the YSU game on the BTN from a local bar here, and maybe it's because I worked in public information for a while, but JESUS CHRIST. They would come back from commercial breaks in the middle of a play (happened 3 times), the commentators were pure shit, and the picture was garbage.

They need to figure it out.

The commentators are the only thing in that list of problems that can be pinned on the BTN. DTV and Dish Network have both had issues at different times, either with coming back in the middle of a play or not having the first several games on at all. I have Time Warner and didn't have an issue with the commercials for the YSU game. I don't have BTN HD, but I have seen it, and it looks great in most cases.

Dear BTN...

Look, I don't think any rational Big10 fan expects absolute homerism from your Big Ten Tonight anchors. But do they have to drool over USC like Charlie the Hut does over...well, anything edible?

Go fuck yourselves,

Not exactly BTN related but sorta.

Anyone in the Dayton area hear about TWC and NBC's bickering match? Alot like BTN when it first released. Apparently NBC and TWC have not been able to reach an agreement for a while now (hence the reason why we STILL don't have an NBC HD) and now they've taken it to the next level by saying by October 2nd, 2008 NBC will no longer be on the lineup. Which has pissed alot of people off. That means no Sunday Night Football, HD or not, IT'S STILL FOOTBALL! I mean come on, who would have thought of the day that I would have to go to a sports bar for a football game airing on a LOCAL CHANNEL! :sad2:
