OSU SPORTS - You have done an excellent job of explaining that which BTN's own FAQ and one of their primary spokesmen (Silverman) manage to keep obscure.

Thanks. I have tried to stay out of some of the heated posts on here concerning the BTN. I can relate to the anger that a lot of fans feel about not being able to watch OSU on their present cable system. I do feel the need to advance some facts concerning the BTN when I can include them without drawing the anger of some poster on the board. In the long run, the BTN will be good for all Big Ten fans. There will be growing pains, like any business venture. To be able to break away from ESPiN and have the independence of scheduling games, WHEN the member institutions want to instead of being dictated to by the networks will be a big advantage in the years to come. Personally I would rather watch old OSU games on the BTN in the off season, as opposed to spelling bees on ESPN.

Yeah, I can't wait to see Northwestern's come back from something like 16 points to beat Michigan on a last second field goal.

Or watch Bob Lantry's FG try go wide right... And I'd love to get the full TV version of the 95 and 96 ND games. The Best of the Buckeyes series stuff just doesn't get it done. I want to see/hear the real broadcast... nothing like listening to Bob Trumpy eating a shit sandwich live on NBC/UND Network.

Another BTN article. If you scroll down toward the bottom, you wil notice a section entitled, And the BTN may not be carved in Stone. Silverman makes it clear that the price is negotiable IF a cable company puts the BTN on the basic cable package. It also brings up the point that cable companies will get more revenue from it being a HD station, as customers have to pay an additional fee for HD programming.

For those that might think that the BTN is trying to muscle the cable compaines like Comcast into a deal, you have the chosen the wrong bully. The 800lb Gorilla in this struggle is Comcast. With a revenue stream of over 7.7 billion dollars, they are the Godzilla in this matter. They did lose over 95,000 customers this past quarter, but their profits were still up considerably. You have to ask yourself how a little mom and pop cable company in Ohio can offer the BTN network(with less revenue coming in) and Godzilla won't.

Well I just cancelled my Gameplan. Now someone assure me again that I won't miss any games. Being in Texas I'm still a little concerned that I may miss a game.

I like to pick up the East coast ABC feed on DirecTV. $8 a month.
That's usually good for 1-2 games a year.

Will you miss any games?
I wouldn't trust the BTN just yet.
Especially with a weak looking schedule and us not getting any respect this year.
