Man that is depressing--could not stand the niner's being a Giants fan but he was one helluva an innovator. He will be missed in football circles and by many.

Holy crap this is a huge shock. One of the best coaches of all time at any level....no doubt about it. Thoughts go out to his family, friends, and all the people he had a positive effect on throughout his life. RIP.

I did laugh at an interview I saw on NFL Network where he blamed Parcells for giving it the name the west coast offense, considering he started using it when he was a coach at Cincinnati.
