Bitching about the 2004 Season

Thanks for taking my Call DiHard, two questions. First are rumors true about Herbie hanging out at highway rest stops and state park bathrooms? Second, how do you operate your call in show with a straight jacket on? I"ll hang up and listen.

This may be the funniest thread I've ever read...except for maybe when ex-wolverine finally left (or did he?)...but I gotta say, I also listen to 1460, and two things are relevant to the original question. First, as mentioned above, Kirk is very vocal in giving his detailed advice as to what would help this team. Second, I have heard many interactions between Tressel and Kirk, and all of them were very good natured. Both JT and KH were joking with each other, and it was quite obvious that they get along fine.

My one reason for starting this thread was to get good feedback and there are some pretty good posts to support it. One thing that i would like to say is that Tressel made the comment on ''I listen to anyone who can offer constructive criticism with sincerity but I would not take criticism from Herbstriet" And when i read that comment from Tressel, I was very surprised at what was said. I was always under the impression that both men were pretty much on the same page, but that comment was unlike Tressel to make.

That is not exactly what he said. He said he would listen to anyone to offer criticism, but when it came time to address the issues Herbstreit would not be one of the people he involved in the meetings.

Herbie has plenty of access to the Bucks, he along with any ex-players can go to practice any time they want. They have much more access than the media does. Herbie is only in town a couple days a week during the season so does not go over that much. There have been some issues with some of Cooper's players not getting off on the right foot w/ Tress. Surprisingly most of the conflict started when Tress forced Coach Kennedy out. That was a guy who had more loyalty with ex-players than anyone else in the program Guys like Eddie, Springs, Galloway, etc. who all came back to OSU in the offseason to work out with coach K were pissed. In fact almost none of them return to Columbus anymore since Coach K left town. But as with most fans, the NC in 2002 helped to sooth many of the hard feelings.

Hi DiHard, I'm Josh from BN... glad I could finally get through, phone line is really busy. Quick question. I dont think we are using Ted Ginn Jr enough, I mean come on... the only time we get to see him is a little on offence at WR and on punt returns. I dont understand why JT dont put him in at QB,RB,CB,PR,KR,WR and TE that would vastly increase our offensive output. Dont you agree? thanks for taking my question. I'm hanging up now.

NYB, I don't think he is a very good punter, or kicker.

That is why I left him off of there. I know I am being negative.

I also don't think he would be a good long snapper, or holder either.
I know I sound way too negative.

I want to know something that has bothered me for quite awhile. So I figured some of you who live in Columbus could be more direct to answer my question. I understand that Kirk Herbstriet was allowed much more freedom and access to the WHAC under John Coopers reign, more so than what Kirk is allowed to do now, under Jim Tressel. I have heard some say that Herbstriet was alot more closer to John Cooper than Jim Tressel. Any truth to that ?
The MEDIA of which Kirk is part, was given much more access to OSU football. Tressel runs a very tight ship. You think Tressel is bad..... you should see how Woody was with the media.... JT looks like a freakin liberal with the media compared to Woody. The media only spoke to the kids WOODY picked and it was ALWAYS one or two of the senior team captains. Unless it was his sunday after a win show. Cause if OSU lost it was ONLY WOOODY. If they won... you would see one or two seniors that the host could ask questions that Woody approved of.

Dihard,

It's Billybob from Chilocothe again. My sis is good ain't she? So is yours.

I want to know when you will be doing another movie.
I loved you in the tall building, the airport, and in that show with Cybil Shepard.
The movie about the monkeys was kind of strange though.

IIRC the weight room issue was that Tressel only allows former players with degrees or enrolled in school to use the WHAC. This may or may not have been the source of the problem JT had with Kennedy. Maybe Kennedy was too busy being personal trainer for NFL players than he was being the S&C coach.

DiHard is in the shitter with another four-flush masterpiece, so I'll field this question....first of all, you suck. Yeah, I know, bad insult, but can you disagree? You're talking about a true frosh that has impacted this team like nobody since MoC...what's next, are you gonna petition for his return? It's no wonder your parents parked on the train tracks...maybe you should learn from their example and off yourself....right after you off anybody that likes you, and all your family members.

Oh, and Billybob, NO, that isn't what sheep are for. Now stop calling here before I drown you in that sheep's blood...I don't care if the sheep is your father.

disclaimer: I'm not nearly as good as DiHard at this. That's why I produce the show, and DiHard is the host.
