BP Vacation Thread: What To Do Where You're Going

Are they playing at Sun Life or the new Marlins park? If it is Sun Life, you are better off staying around the Ft Lauderdale area which would be closer than Miami.

They're playing at Sun Life Stadium. Haven't really gotten into the specifics of getting a hotel, but I will for sure look in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Thanks!

I'll be making my annual road trip to Toronto in June or July. Love that city because they don't waste a minute of the good weather - always something going on during the summer months. Usually, there are multiple events taking place and the city is very walkable.

I also tend to catch a case of yellow fever when I'm there, too. :p

Well I don't know why in the world you'd want to go to Flagstaff ...

You know, I keep hearing that.

This is the family reunion/vacation thing with the in-laws, and I'm just along for the ride.

I've heard good things about Salsa Brava for Mexican and Brandy's for breakfast... thanks for the tips!

Go down to Newbury St, get some lunch and do some people watching. I recommend Charley's at the corner of Gloucester and Newbury. Sit on the patio. Good food, always nice looking servers.

Cool, thanks. Staying in the North End if anyone has recommendations for that area.

Driving to Myrtle Beach in two weeks. We go there every year. We may go to Gatlinburg later in the year as well. The wife gets 6 weeks vacation throughout the year, so we do our fair bit of traveling, but with 3 kids under five right now, it's a little tough.

Will be going to Oglebay "Resort" in WV with family for a week in June... Anyone been there? Reviews of Oglebay offerings or suggestions for nearby excursions will be appreciated.
Two great golf courses are located at Oglebay. It's a pretty place. Nearby excursions would, however, prove disappointing IMO - unless you like shopping at Cabela's, which is located just outside Weirton, maybe 15 miles away.

A little further up the river from Weirton is the little town of Newell (across the river from East Liverpool) where Homer Laughlin China is located, home of Fiesta Ware. Not a great interest to me, but many folks seem to love the stuff.

Other than these things, if I were you I'd look to spend as much time in Pittsburgh as possible - a great city with many attractions, and only about 45 minutes from Oglebay.
