Brent Musburger (official thread)

Just as Ohio State was ready to run out onto the field Sat. night I thought I heard Brent Musberger say that he was in the BIG HOUSE.I didn't tape the game so came some one verify this for me.

watched the game last night for the first time on TV (so pissed that it was not HD), he had trouble with the fact that Texas has so many players that share the same number (which I don't like anyway), offense/defense, and he credited Quan Cosby with Pittman's first catch. But overall, they did a pretty good job.

also, for any Texas fans that did not make it to the game and watched it on TV, the sound of that stadium was not captured at all. You could tell that it was so muted as you could hardly hear the third down bell as you watched it on TV. Which I thought was one of the better aspects of your stadium.

I don't know why that happens with the TV coverage, but you are aboslutely right, the noise level in the Shoe rarely translates into the feed sent to the viewing audience at home. Maybe it is simply TOO LOUD IN THERE and they cannot do anything other than mix the ambient noise down to near zero for their signal??

The reason for that is b/c the pressbox is so high up. I believe it's the highest pressbox in the US and the noise isn't very loud coming through the announcers microphone.

You're right TV doesn't do it justice.

I was a big fan of Danielson joking with Musberger about "Holy Buckeye" during the Texas game.

But yeah, the crowd noise was so loud that I think some times the mic's got cut out. Musberger made a comment about that when Vince and co. were down in the closed end of the stadium. I was sitting on that side, 13AA, and I could not hear the ref, I couldn't hear the PA, barely hear the 3rd down bell, shit I couldn't hear the person sitting right next to me, it was that loud.
