Buckeye Offensive Coordinator Discussion (merged)

I am impressed by his objectivity and ability to take a step back and look at it. I am not convinced that he is objective enough about himself, but perhaps he is.

Penn State is ranked above Texas in third place in the averaged computer ratings (http://www.mratings.com/cf/compare.htm). What if we just happened to get beat by the two teams that play for the national championship?

He seems calm about this and I am quite happy to let him get on with it. However, if he cannot get the offense to achieve better, I hope that he will indeed have that conversation in the post-season and get a really good offensive coordinator.

Digging through the Tressel-ease, it almost sounds like he's expecting an OC to be brought in next year...maybe not an OC in pure title, but someone to run the offense just the same.

I'm going to go on the assumption you aren't being facetious...

JT's inabaility at Offensive Coordinator are quickly becoming legendary. His assertion that his involvment will continue is disconcerting, to say the least.

I guess we are just going to disagree here that Jt is not the problem with the offense.

I know if I was a coach I would have say in what is being called. Also the gameplan and calls are a collective group effort like he said they all watch the plays and say what they would like to see and what they think would work.

I wouldnt mind that idea, someone that would come in and help more. I see a problem with the eyes in the pressbox, I think that area needs some help. I just think it is a hard thing to do watch from the pressbox and make adjustments. It is like sitting in the stands and being able to follow the whole game and concentrate on what is going wrong with each problem.

how did you come to that conclusion? thinking he'll consider it, but still want to be involved if one comes in?

Let's break dow his statement: "I think that's a discussion you have at times. But, you know, I'm not sure that that would interest me. We'll see, but I like being involved."

His first sentence admits that it's being talked about...that's the first I've ever seen him say that. When he says "We'll see" at the beginning of the third sentence, to me, that's tantamount to admitting it's a very serious idea. Sure, he might not be "interested" in that idea, but somethings are beyond his control, if you get my drift.

Nevada has spoken on the issue and said there could be some small changes in offensive coaches next year.
I'll believe it when I see it, but stewie's pretty excited to hear the news
