Clarity has always been my most admired poster, dating back to the days of Bucknuts. When he cooked up the idea for Buckeyeplanet I wanted to see this site suceed very much so. Clarity is a brilliant man and with such a great fan base here at Buckeyeplanet, this place will still provide profitability while not selling out.

If we all continue to contribute without asking for handouts this place will become (if it hasn't already) the best college fan site on the web. The nucleus here was formed by the folks who had become disgusted with the path that Bucknuts went down.

Let us continue down the path that Clarity has constructed, and lets all help this place be what Clarity visioned.

I was just over at Bucknuts and there are two threads on the recruiting board linking to BuckeyePlanet (curious to see how long they last).

This site will only increase in stature as time goes by.

Ooops, sorry 21, but only the writers that can successfully spell "you" (yuo) and use the apostrope for a contraction (I've) are getting their paychecks this month! :lol: Just kidding all, there is no money for blogs or anything else, people are very gracious and giving with their talents at this site ... a true community project. NOTE: My future posts will be coming from a satellite linked computer on my new yacht "Scarlet" floating somewhere in the caribbean. :lol:

I would be interested in doing this. It's something I have always done for my own sake anyways, and it would be no problem to take that more in-depth. I would love to be able to contribute to the site. Just PM me or let me know what I can do.

Work will be finally slowing down to the point I could contribute to this site more by the time football season rolls around. I would be more than happy to help research or assist is team breakdowns. I have been trying to put together a Big Ten breakdown but have not had the time to work on it the way I want to. Please let me know if there is anything I could do to help in whatever previews or breakdowns you guys are doing.

Speaking of BNuts, anyone care to tell me what happened to all you guys from there? Were you banned or just tired of the crap? I never really posted much, just lurked and I remember a ton of you guys from over there. One day you were there and the next "poof" gone. I'd love to hear the story if the subject isn't too touchy.

I still go there from time to time so I don't want to sound hypocritical. I guess I have a major problem with the quality of the football talk and the amount of negative talk about recruits. Basically it's just not a good place anymore.

Read the threads in Forum Politics (linked above) subforum under Open Discussion. It will take care of the finer details. Basically, some of the members you alluded to were banned or had various conflicts with the BN staff. BP was created before all that happened, but it's growth has certainly been fueled by the going on at BN. So, a few of the more recognizable posters ended up here that way, and some former BN regulars like myself just happend to stumble on this place and realize how much better it is, and decided not to go back. Believe me, if you read most of that subforum, you'll probably find our more than you care to.

BTW, welcome, and enjoy your stay. I'm sure you'll come to realize what just about everyone else has - that this place is way cool. The best part is, it's not even half what it's gonna be when the season rolls around and the bells and whistled get put into place.

I recall about 3 years ago when most of us here began over on "Bucknuts" and how brand new it all seemed. Especially with the arrival of coach Jim Tressel and how anxious we all were to see what would develope. In 3 quick short years we now have an N/C under our belt and with it came an over abundance of interested newcomers who invaded that website with useless observances that really irrattated many of us, here-now in BuckeyePlanet.

All of us weather we are in "Bucknuts" or "BuckeyePlanet proclaim to be TRUE BUCKEYE FANS. But with this website here, i think the "BUCK" stops here at this point. The real logic of good football conversation seems to be with us here in BuckeyePlanet and I hope it continues to be the same for along time.

Even if we are not sucessfull in our goal of another National Championship in the coming years. God only knows that it is a pretty tough task to re-peat or even 3-peat. But to me, its all about "The Ohio State University" and its football program in its past and it its present form. It sure is nice today still, to be able to pop in the 2002 OSU/Miami N/C tape and revel in its glory. But time moves on with much excitement to still look forward to.

Alot of the posters in Bucknuts that we all remember may not be with us here anymore and I always wonder what has become of them. Posters like WrayGun or Tom-inDayton and so many others that we do not see here in BuckeyePlanet. What has become of them. There are so many others who i have forgotten that added alot of strange incites or takes that were somewhat thought provoking. Maybe some of you out here can re-call who they were and thier un-usual post that made us laugh or cry back in our first days in old "Bucknuts"

Geeze, I had totally forgotten about Wraygun, and hadn't even thought about TID in quite a while. I think he did post a few months back on BN, isn't he more of a BSB guy anyway?

Although I still post on BN and still have an active membership I become more and more dissapointed in that place with time. The closing and then "lamification" of the retard room and lack of good football convo has really lessened the appeal of that place to me.

I am really looking forward to this place once the season starts, with the increased traffic and new play things on the horizon this should be really really cool.
