I am not sure that this is still a problem, but there is a known problem with a huge percentage of Samsung LCDs where the power supply screws up, inevitably just after the one year warranty. The capacitors blow out and it just "ticks" instead of turning on. Mine is doing this now. They actually sell kits to fix it on Amazon and there are youtube videos on how to do it. I have to do this. Ugh. I'd beware.
