It seems kind of clunky. I don't know. The campaign mode is alright. I tried online for the first time earlier, and it just seemed off. I don't know if it's because I haven't played it in awhile or what. I don't like the "create a player" thing. I just want to pick my guns and scorestreaks and go. It's like they tried to fancy it up for the sake of fancy.

This might end up being the first COD I take back for a trade. The spawns are stupid, everyone fucking camps and if you know how to snipe, you are going to be infinitely better at this game than anyone else. BO2 was the stupid submachine guns and it appears this game has seriously over-emphasized the snipers.

I hit a weird bug today - when I was using the tracker sight, it stopped working altogether after I respawned. I hadn't hit the right stick or anything, it said it was still equipped, but it wasn't there anymore.

reviews coming in for the PS4 and X1 versions...couldn't decide what thread to put it in as the biggest thing I'm pointing out as nothing to do with game

UPDATE: 11/12/2013
CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS REVIEW UPDATE: XBOX ONE

While the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts has been confirmed by Activision to run at a lower resolution than its PS4 counterpart (720p upscaled to 1080p native, respectively), that numerical difference is less meaningful than you might imagine.

The two versions look nearly identical. Viewing the Xbox One release next to the PS4 , I had difficulty telling them apart. It's possible that the PS4 version looked somewhat sharper, but that may have just been my imagination after confirming the hard resolution difference. The next-gen releases of Call of Duty: Ghosts are so close together that gun to my head, I'd have no confidence in being able to discern which version was which — at least, while the two are standing still.

The Xbox One release's framerate was far more noticeable. As mentioned in the initial review, Call of Duty: Ghosts suffers from consistent framerate drops on the PS4, especially during multiplayer when action got especially hectic. The Xbox One version suffered no such drops, maintaining a steady 60 frames per second throughout.

For a multiplayer shooter, framerate consistency is paramount. Given its relative visual parity with the PS4 release, Call of Duty: Ghosts is a more playable, slightly superior (albeit disappointing) game on Xbox One.

So, after playing this game for a week now, I have a few more take-aways than before. 1.) I agree with Mike about the spawn points being stupid. It appears as though you frequently spawn very near where you just got killed, which, often puts you directly in a firefight and susceptible to immediate termination. I have, literally, on more than one occasion had my guy shot 3 successive times without even being able to take a step or lift my weapon. 2.) It isn't all the time, and I don't know if it's my internet connection, their servers or what, but often enough I'll unload on a guy, he'll kill me, and on his kill cam, I won't even have got a shot off. 3.) Hackers suck. 4.) And i guess this would be more directed, again, to Mike's point, but I dont have a huge problem with the changes to the sniper class weapons. They shoud be 1 shot killers really, and I think that the developers had to strike a balance with the public demand for an improved sniper class by making the maps more difficult to use that class. While I have seen some occasional "camping" (although I'm not really sure what else you're supposed to do with a sniper rifle), you really can't stay in one place for very long as no matter where you are at you can be flanked easily. People have long since become wise to that strategy, and its not uncommon to have a couple guys on a team that are specifically looking to counterbalance that, and have loadouts to respond in kind. The really small maps are virtually impossible to camp on anyway. Probably the biggest difference that I've noticed in this game so far is that it is obvious that the developers have tried to design the maps in a way that there are no longer common routes that can be easily exploited to gain an advantage. Like I said in my first post, the maps are much more circuitous and verticle. It is much much harder to hold down a localized area than ever before, and with 6 guys, if you're able to find a competent group of team memebers, your zone or AoR is much bigger, with more entry points. It has been a awhile since my K/D ratio has been below 1.00, which isn't AWSOMMER!!!!1!11!1m, but it is competent. This game is challenging so far. I hope that as time goes on, the network issues will get better and there will be a competent response to address the ridiculous number Hackers I've seen in the first week. There is no f-ing way that after a week someone could already be a level 10 prestige and have all of their shit unlocked. Overall, I like the game. It has it's issues, but so far no iteration of the series hasn't. In the past few years, I've enjoyed the games developed by Treyarch more than by Infinity Ward, though CoD4 and MW2 are still my all time favorites. After that, BO1&2 are next. Now with Sledgehammer getting in the mix (and apparently developing MW4) we'll see what changes again.

I don't have a problem with snipers camping. It's the stupid bastards that camp with SMGs that piss me off.

Having played it now for a bit, I know where the vast majority of the little bastards are hiding so it's fun to hear them bitch and moan, but I still like MW3 better. This one is about on par with BO2 with me, which ain't great....

I'm not really enjoying this game. I got online the other day and was on some castle looking map. I couldn't take 5 steps without getting sniped. I ended the game with 13 deaths and ZERO kills. I literally never saw anyone from the other team.

FWIW the single biggest complaint on the Ghosts forum is the spawn issue. For a while, I thought I must just be crazy thinking I just spawned right in front of a guy or that I just got killed from behind by the guy who i just shot. Nope, its a mess. There's supposed to be a patch to add SnD back to the game modes (not sure why it wasn't included as it was one of the most popular modes, but this is Infinity Ward we're talking about). Anyway, I don't know if this patch will address the spawning issue or not, but people have been bitching about it since the release. It seems like it took several weeks to get the bugs worked out of MW3.

OK the spawning issues have now become ridiculous. There are actually people that are now dropping IED's where they spawn to take out the guy that will inevitably kill them from behind, that they just shot. It's comical. I'm going back to Mw3 AND BO2 until they get this shit resolved. it sucks going like 12-10 or 8-10 every fucking game just because I immediately get killed right after I kill someone else. I actually spawned in the exact same location as a guy that was trying to spawn kill me yesterday. And i mean, my guy spawned, it seemed glitchy, i moved to my right and there was a guy right next to me, like I spawned inside him (yeah, I know, gross). F this game.
