Cavaliers acquire G Welsch from Celtics

For every Boozer and Redd, you have 50 players that blow as 2nd round picks.
I can't disagree with that, but my problem here is it kind of looks like they are taking the easy way out. Also, this isn't a 2nd round pick. They are trading away the unknown for a guy which they know is OK. While that removes the chance they will pick a bust, it also removes the possibility of drafting a star. Although it's still possible this guy will develop into a big-time player I don't think it's likely. I would prefer it if the team had confidence that they would pick a player that would "blow up". The good thing is we will have his services for two years before the 07' draft. It will be interesting to see what kind of player he develops into by the time of that draft.

Cleveland has wanted Welsch for quite some time. They were trying to get him before last year's draft for Jackson, but Boston said NO. Welsch has now fallen out of the rotation there, so the Celtics reconsidered. I like this pick-up, from what I saw hes a pretty decent shooter with alot of athletic ability for a 6-7 guy.

Maybe he could have made a shot in the 3rd Quarter last night. I knew letting him go would come back to bite us in the ass. :shake:
