CB Denzel 'Hurt! My! Feelings!' Ward (All B1G, All-American, Pro Bowl, Cleveland Browns)

I never took the SAT in high school. I took the ACT and got a high enough score that West Point recruited me. I took the PSAT and got a high enough score that I got scholarship offers from a bunch of private schools. They told me NOT to take the SAT. I was good. It didn't make sense to take the unlikely risk that I might have a bad day and flub the SAT.

So I guess the legacy of Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey is sitting out a bowl game too. I can bet that Ward would haves no problem with their futures... And both of them were still drafted in the 1st round. For the fools who think that GMs care that much about kids sitting out a bowl game, there you go. If there's enough film,a team will take them.

Of course now will be the responses of the fanboys saying "if I was GM I wouldn't take him". Yeah, and you're the idiot who wouldn't be a GM for very long either
You are still referencing Fournette and Mccaffrey for being pioneers of this practice. Do you think half of BP will ever forget about this? Not likely. It's not their whole legacy, but it's absolutely part of it, for those guys and now for Ward. I'm really not criticizing, just sayin though. It's a chapter in a book.

McCaffrey broke Barry Sanders' single season all-purpose yards record. Fournette broke LSU's single season records for rushing yards and touchdowns.
"I don’t think at the end of my career people are going to say, ‘Oh, you know, LeBron did some great things, but he lost eight in a row to the Jazz.’ "

Sidenote: if people want players to see bowl games like the sacred cows they were 40 years ago, maybe there shouldn't be fucking 50 of them.

No you’re not...that’s just what you tell yourself to justify your selfishness.

1st go fuck yourself. 2nd I really mean it what's CFB gonna be like when highly touted players decide mid year they have proven themselves enough and decide not to play against more physical teams because of a higher chance of injury. Obviously it's a new-ish thing and it's not that extreme but I can totally see it moving in that direction

And my (very obvious and simple) point is that people will remember that, and they will remember the bowl thing, because it happened - and was/is a notable story at the time.

I have no dog in this fight, but I honestly forgot about both of them skipping their respective bowl games. Then again, I don't follow those programs worth a damn.

You're delusional, it would be half a page in their book, not a chapter. Not once has any commentator mentioned McCaffrey or Fournette skipping bowl games this year. And both have been vital cogs in their teams reaching the playoffs as well. Funny how also, both were drafted higher than the MvP of last years NC and countless other players who played in their teams meaningless bowl games...

And honestly, if I were Ward or any player, I wouldn't give a damn about what message board warriors about my future and what I could do to help my family. So even if you were criticizing or just sayin, any player would roll their eyes at the opinion that their stellar careers in S&G would be trivialized down to sitting out one game
