CBF40's look at '12 recruiting (BP's prediction thread)

It seems clear that an extra DB or two can be added to everyone "best guess" list. CBs in particular seem to be a target heading towards signing day.

I know that various numbers have been thrown around but forgetting the actual positions and just considering numbers where are we thinking this class ends up? Just seems like so many offers and still new ones every time a log on. It makes me wonder where we are heading as in the final number.

If this is an SAT question my response is "ATH".

While there is definitely confusion over what this late outflow of offers means for those committed, those looking, upper classmen, etc, one thing is very clear about it: every one of these guys receiving an offer is among the fastest at his position. This is a game plan we always knew was a big idea in the SEC, but we've never really seen it employed here. Pretty exciting time to be a Buckeye fan!

Just an FYI: We have 63 returning players on scholarship. We're limited to 82 at the start of the season per sanctions. Ergo to whatever extent we sign over 19 to LOIs, there must be attrition in one form or another.

11W Recruiting Notebook | Eleven Warriors

We are officially less than three weeks away from National Signing Day and the buzz around recruiting is starting to get louder and louder by the day.

Jeremy brought you a great update on Tuesday of where things stand, but like always, recruiting is fluid, so we wanted to bring you another update today in the form of the latest edition of the 11W Recruiting Notebook.

With a full staff in hand, Urban Meyer is full steam ahead on the recruiting trail. His staff has made stops all around the state of Ohio, as well as throughout the country, including the entire group going to both St. Petersburg and San Antonio to check out prospects at the Under Armour All-America Game and the US Army All-America Bowl respectively. You can say Meyer takes this recruiting thing pretty seriously and early returns look to pay big dividends if you are a Buckeye fan.

Today, we take a look at some new names on the recruiting scene, what visits are lined up for the rest of the month, and what 2013 prospects are the latest to be offered from the Urbinator himself. Join us after the jump to get the latest buzz in the recruiting world with the 11W Recruiting Notebook.

Just in case anyone missed it, UFM said we probably have 4-5 spots left. With that in mind, I think realistically: Decker, Dodson, Reeves, Williams, and Neal. Really hoping to see O'Connor or Diamond in this class somehow though.

I thought Decker had reaffirmed his commitment to ND just not to long ago did I miss something? I hope I did!!!!! Because that would be a great wrap up to this class.

n;2087742;]There were so many new names mentioned in that article, it was almost baffling to read.

In the above link over at 11W also a Tidbit link that states the possibility of another 2 spots opening up which im not sure if Meyer was counting on in his numbers 4-5 or if that opens up 6-7. That could be a big big difference.

Decker has an offer and is interested, check his thread in the 2012 recruiting forum. Huge pickup if we can make it happen...I like our odds.

Thanks for the heads up dont know how I missed that one.

That would be a real nice pickup. Question is.... with the OT is it a first come first serve and do they wait to offer O'Connor further to see what what shakes out with Diamond and Dodson???

For some reason I see O'Connor and Diamond in this class as very realistic even though tackle is more of a need and O'Connor is being recruited for the inside. Question, if this happens and we CAN land Decker or Diamond knowing the limited spots left in this class do we take them at the expense of someone "elite" at one of the other positions of need? Do we take 3 OL in this case?
