Chicago White Sox 2007 Season Thread

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: Clubhouse Insider? Blog Archive ? Sox out of running for Buehrle
This really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but baseball sources indicated early this afternoon that the Red Sox are no longer really in the running for left-handed pitcher Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox.

While it remains unclear as to where Buehrle will eventually end up, the Red Sox are not willing to part with the prospects necessary to make the trade. Chicago is believed to be looking for at least one of two front-line pitching prospects - Clay Buchholz or, perhaps, Jon Lester - in order to part with Buehrle, who is a free agent at the end of the season.

On the South Side of Chicago, they like their socks white.

And if they have the best interests of their team in mind, they'd also prefer their flags to be white: It's white flag time for the Chicago White Sox. At this writing, the White Sox are 12.5 games out in the American League Central and 12.5 games out in the wild-card chase. Accordingly, Baseball Prospectus gives the 2005 world champs only a 0.013% chance of making the postseason.

some great ball being played on the southside today. they gave up 32 runs (not a typo) in two games today. WTF is that? scored 14 runs in the first game and lost by six! then in the second, they lost 12-zip.

The red zone defense improved. After 2 TDs and 2 FGs in the first game, they held them to 4 FGs in the second. :tongue2:

It is a good deal - I think he would of got more years and more money if he hit FA at the end of the year. I am glad all this talk is finally behind him and the team - now he can just go out and pitch.

Hopefully the team does make some moves - Dye needs to be traded.

Lots of talk saying the WhiteSox will go after Ichiro in the offseason.

I'm glad they re-signed him....but he's getting shafted (as much as you can get shafted by making millions of dollars by throwing a ball around). He gave the White Sox a great bargain in what he asked for, and all he wanted in return was an iron clad 'No Trade Clause'. He didn't even get that.

Was BJ healthy and available for the all-star game? If so, he got hated on big time in the top of the 9th by Leyland. When Putz blew it I was ready for BJ, but he brought in Rodriguez instead.

they didn't say he was injured. Who knows, he could have asked not to pitch if he just wanted to rest his arm. How does LaRussa let Rowland hit with Pujols sitting in the dugout? Oh well now the Tigers will have home field advantage in the W.S........:wink2:

did you notice leyland getting pissed in the dugout after the bases got loaded? it meant more to him than most of those guys on the bench.
