Chris Holtmann (ex-tOSU Bball coach, HC at DePaul)

OK - I’ve been to several games and have watched every game so far this year. I’d like to upgrade my grade on CH for this season. The team is definitely feeling different than any of his tenure so far. I have noticed that Diebler has a much larger presence directing the team on the court and during timeouts. Perhaps CH has found that right guy to help him.

Obviously the talent is pretty good this year. So again, CH is underrated as a recruiter.

We’ll see come B1G play, but I like what I see. The combo of Bruce and Roddy is really flowing well

agreed. now lets hope they avoid the big losing streak and then we're talking

I feel like the last couple of seasons coach had to count on guys to play above their ability/experience level. The offense had to run through role players and/or Freshmen. This season we have experienced scorers, so guys like Key can do the dirty work. It is also a big plus to have back court leadership.

Soooo … we don’t want to fire him yet? Just want to get calibrated to the board‘s mood.
I‘m sure it’ll change with the next loss.

I want to see how he does in conference. They were 10-3 last year, 2-0 in the B1G, then blew the Purdue game at home and bottomed out.

Yeah, Zed tried to play through it but was never the same. I don't know how much better they'd have done in conference with a healthy Zed, but it was definitely a big loss.

I do think it helped Okpara coming into this season, though. He was forced to play a lot than he would've with Zed and he's much improved.
