Cincinnati Bengals (2013 Season)

After Mayock tried to rationalize his pre-draft stance on Burfict by saying, roughly, that the fact he was playing so well proved that Mayock was right, I stopped listening to Mayock.

Plus, I'm pretty sure it was the off the field crap that led to Burfict not getting drafted.

People miss on prospects all the time. If it was easy, the best players would always be top picks. I respect that Mayock takes the time to watch all the tape on a player. Analysts will be wrong, but if their reasoning is thought out, what more can you ask for as a fan?

I listened to him broadcast a Bengals game. He was patting himself on the back the whole time about how right he was about Burfict and that the fact that Berfict was performing as well as he was was proof of it. I can't remember exact quotes on it, but the contortions he went through to avoid just admitting that Burfict wasn't the player that he thought he would be was painful to listen to.

With the signing of Harrison I am hoping our picks go Keenan Allen, Matt Elam/Eric Reid, and a tackle (if Smith doesn't happen). I think we can get a RB in the 3rd or 4th for good value and if Smith does sign, I like Bell or Ball late 2nd. If not, we might need to draft a tackle in the 2nd or possibly Fluker in the early 2nd if he slips down there.

I HOPE Marvin was not serious when saying he would not rule out DL, LB, or CB for our first selection...I think he even brought up OG or TE as a possibility with one of the first three picks. We have basically everyone in tact on the DL (Johnson, Dunlap, Atkins, Peko, Geathers, Gilberry) and drafted two DL early last year in Still and Thompson, the latter of which [censored]ed me off since LaMichael James was available. We're as loaded as we are going to get at corner with Hall, Jones, Newsome, Kirkpatrick, etc. We sunk the money into Harrison and Mauluga to start and Burfict is going to be great, so we don't need a LB until later.

This NFL.COM 7 round mock draft is one of the few that actually "gets it" from a team needs perspective. It has us taking Cyprien at S with the 1st, Jonathan Franklin at RB with the 2nd, and Robert Woods at WR with the last 2nd round pick. I would be very happy with those three picks. Then again, they have Lacy and Hankins going near the end of the 2nd round

the dodo's at espn have the Bengals picking Eddie Lacy in the first RD

:smash: if that happens

Definitely not worth the 21st...maybe trade down in the 1st and still get him to add a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I also don't want a tackle here...even if we don't get Smith resigned, we hold all the cards and I would be comfortable with either of Collins or Roland starting there. So really I still want to go safety, receiver, and running back in no particular order with the first three picks.

Tyler [censored]ing Eifert. I hope Mike Brown crawls in a corner and dies.

I'm sure he is eyeing a left tackle prospect to add depth behind Whitworth in the 2nd...or another position where we have a solidified player at.
