Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

Me too. I'm done if they take him at 4. Call me a fair weather fan, but if they take him I will not support them again until they win, period.

Forget 4, they take him at 22, I'm out...

Browns AND Cubs fan here...The Buckeyes are about the only thing that keeps me sane sports-wise.

On a Browns note,

Holmgren is really starting to wear out his welcome IMO. Really like Heckert and building through the draft (though I don't think signing a couple free agents that can make a big impact would kill us...).

Future team of Matt Barkley? Too bad we didn't decide to completely tank last year, grrrr

Browns and ORIOLES fan checking in here....damn can't I pick them?

I'll still stick around even if it's just to languish in the pain - after all, I've been doing that for the Orioles since that little bastard stole the ball from Tony Tarasco....

Yeah, I mean, it's not like I could pick another team. I've dealt with this organization's [Mark May] since I was 7 years old. But, my interest in them has been waning considerably since 2009 (I've probably watched 3-4 of their games TOTAL since then, and passed on free tickets to the Miami game last year to go to some mediocre beer fest)...and picking Ryan [censored]ing Tannehill would probably just cause a mighty guffaw...for God's sake, I pretty much expect them to [censored] up in the most horribly funny way possible now.

at this point i am content with getting richardson at #4 even if its a reach because he wont be available at #5...stay at #22 and get a WR...draft all other positions of need after that...for how much we lack talent on the offensive side i think we have to address those 2 spots, RB and WR in the first round...so in browns speak this means we will trade down, draft Tannehill and then draft a center at #22

After seeing the kind of money and draft picks being thrown around for QBs, I'm just going to pretend that the Browns are wise enough to not enter an inefficient market.

They are, they'll just blow the DPs they already have on Tannehill.

Heckert has done a decent job. I, for one, am glad we haven't overreached on FA's...which has been the problem with the last couple of regimes. We haven't had a dominant anything since the reincarnation....if they draft Claiborne at 4 and move Brown to safety we have the potential to have a very good defense. Even if they don't, Richardson or Blackmon are good gets....for once I feel as if there is a plan...unfortunately the masses have had to endure years of ineptitude and the patience is no longer there

Agree wholeheartedly. I want, really want, Claiborne at #4. The defense is a legitimate top 10 unit with him. With #22, take Floyd if he is still there. Personally, I like Floyd more than Blackmon...he is bigger and I think he has better ability to go up and get the ball. If Floyd is gone, take best available WR.

If the Browns are hellbent on Tannehill, they will take him in Round 2. No way the Dolphins take him with their 1st round pick. I wish they would because that would be a wasted pick and give the Browns another potential player at #22 as well as in Round 2. Personally, I would take the best RT prospect in Round 2.

With the 3 picks in Rounds 3 and 4, I would take RB and OLB.

Rest of draft, get depth at OL, maybe another RB, and call it a draft. Basically, I see the needs of WR, RB, RT(OL) and OLB as biggest and would spend every pick on those spots except for #4 where I take Claiborne.

I wonder some about Holmgren but I do not wonder about Heckert. He has stuck to his guns, followed what he said from Day 1 about building through the draft. He upgraded the DL last year via the draft. It is not sexy doing that during the draft, but it helps lay the foundation for a strong team. It would not be sexy taking Claiborne at #4 and some in the media here in NE Ohio would lose their mind, but it would be a damn good pick.

However, I do not have infinite patience.

Agreed but I know I will soudn bias. Floyd has better size and speed than Blackmon. He has great hands and can catch in traffic.

I hate ND, but I've been on board with Floyd since I first saw him play as a freshman. If I were the Browns I would do whatever I can to move up from 22 to draft him.
