The name being thrown out there because Dorsey is his biggest fan apparently?

Chase Daniel :slappy: :slappy: :slappy:

The fuckin' guy loves Big 12 quarterbacks for some reason. You think it might be a joke but I can see this team pulling a Manziel all over again and taking Mayfield. You have a GM that loves these types of "gunslinger" QB's and an owner
desperate to inject what little bit of life into the fanbase that he can. Sound familiar?

Direct quote from Dorsey when asked about height and Baker Mayfield:

“Height isn’t everything. How tall is Drew Brees? How tall is Chase Daniel?”

Definitely not a joke, sadly :shake:

Thought he was a big fan of Allen? If there's any truth to the Denver/Rosen thing... Allen is probably there at 5.
Not sure how I feel about that, though. A lot to suggest Allen is mostly a paper tiger with great measurables who makes an occasionally good throw and otherwise meh. But if it takes a #5 to get Flacco at this point... I'll take it. I'd rather have Flacco than Trent Richardson.

This will end in tears.

Rosen doesn't want to play for the Clowns. IMO, he is going to be a terrific pro. That leaves Darnold or Allen. Darnold will be a disaster. He was a turnover machine this year, and what do you think's going to happen when the speed of the game gets cranked up to eleven? Allen's hype is based purely on measurables. He was spectacularly mediocre this season. The excuse being made is that he had a lousy supporting staff. Well, he played at Wyoming, it's not like he was facing stiff competition. People want him to be Carson Wentz. Wentz was very productive and won a ton of games in college. Was his supporting cast at friggin' North Dakota State that much better? Nah, not buying it.

Honestly, for once, I don't have much of an opinion on what they should do because I don't see an obvious move. They can draft Rosen anyway and watch him pull an Elway, Stouffer or Eli. If they draft Darnold they are exactly who we thought they were. No way they go Allen #1. They're in a shit spot. If they don't get a QB this year, they're probably kicking the can down the road until 2020, because 2019 looks pretty bleak for QBs. I'm not really sure what the move should be besides "not Darnold." Maybe trade out of #1, hope you can get Allen lower and hope you can develop him behind {insert veteran retread here}. I'd probably draft Barkley at #4 and hope Denver is willing to pay a King's ransom for Rosen at 1. Then grab Allen there. I'm just not convinced Allen is going to ever develop into a franchise QB. Rosen really fucked them.

Am I the only person that sees a bust in Barkley? Take away his longs and he gets like 2 yds/carry. That's not even an exaggeration.

Iowa - 27car / 167yds
Indy - 19car / 48yds
NW - 15car / 22yds
MI - 14car / 39yds
OSU - 20car / 8yds
MSU - 13car / 27yds
RU - 13car / 24yds
UN - 16car / 93yds
MY - 15car / 60yds
UW - 17car / 45yds

He's way too feast/famine to go that high imo. Is it worth it to get 2ypc all game for 1 60yd TD run ?? Can he even break that many long runs in NFL ? I have doubts. He's an electric player, and he has the size to be a 3down back... but he goes nowhere* too frequently to get 20car a game in the NFL.
What kind of franchise RB loses steam in the 4th quarter ?

*behind an OLine and supporting cast with an athletic advantage against all but maybe 2 or 3 teams there

Right? I don't see much better than what they already have in Duke Johnson...

Penn State's OL was actually really bad this year. But I do agree his numbers should be better against teams like Indiana, Rutgers, and NW. I'm just not sure many RBs could do much behind that line this year. It's hard to run when your OL just isn't opening any holes for you. I watched both our and scUM's game against him, and more often than not, it seemed like the DL was hitting him right when, or moments after he got the ball.

What is to his advantage is he is ridiculously fast for his size, is strong and very versatile...which would be a big plus in a modern NFL offense. Put him behind a solid line, and I could see him being a Todd Gurley type in the NFL. Crowell is garbage, and while Duke is a solid receiver, he looks average, at best, as a runner.

we had 13 TFL's against them. Their O-Line... was bad.

And you could use them both on the field at the same time since you can put Duke in the slot.. and have him be pretty much as good as a slot receiver, as well as 2 back sets. (I'm serious, not in the you could have Cardale, JT and Braxton on the field at the same time way).

I think its really fair to ask if he's worth a #4. And I guess it just comes down to how much you want to weight those many short run, or the Penn State OL.
