Danny Shelton has steadily improved so he can hardly be called a bust.
No, there's plenty of time for him to come around, and he has just the DC to allow him to flourish, so maybe he pans out. Howeva, his first two seasons, even with steady improvement don't look like that of a #12 overall pick. Plus, he's banged up right now...that will ALWAYS be a concern with clowns players. If he doesn't have a breakthrough season this year, he'll probably be stuck as a "serviceable" DT...which isn't what you want from that high of a draft pick.

But we would have happily taken it from Taylor

If you're at all a believer in individual position grades, Danny fared quite well last year meanwhile Haden struggled and continued to struggle throughout pre-season.

Has Danny been Ngata? No. But he certainly wasn't expected to be that when he was drafted. Just a solid interior run defender for the AFCN. Not all that different from Peko in Cincy.

I honestly don't get too deep into statistical analysis in the NFL. I just know in the handful of games I've watched of theirs the past couple of seasons, he's rarely stood out. He's made some plays here-and-there, but not on a consistent basis. Admittedly, I don't follow the clowns as intently as I did when I actually gave a damn about them, but I seem to recall Shelton being touted as a guy who could slide in and make an impact immediately. That was part of his appeal.

Haden has been getting abused by opposing number 1's for 3 years now. Now he's getting beat by 2nd teamers in pre-season. He used to have the athleticism to make up for some of his mistakes but he's lost that as well with all the injuries. Nothing against the guy because he's been a great player to have in the community but injuries have really done a number on him in his prime.

If you've watched any training camp this summer, kenny britt has been working haden over pretty regularly, and you see how well britt has performed in preseason games.

Yo, 2017 Pre-Season champs! Let's go!

I don't know if they will win 4 regular season games this year, but you can't deny that the defense plays fast and mean, which is a vast departure from years past.

I'm really most upset that this team has forced me to give silent support to jabril peppers more than anything, and he's quietly earning it. But if I sucked it up and cheered for domer Quinn and skinkweasal Edwards and hurricon Winslow, I guess I can handle peppers. Kizer is different in my mind because his success in the NFL is simply an indictment of Brian Kelly's incompetence.

Who cares at this point where they went to school. Hell, it's not like they beat Ohio State or anything like that. That's all over. Honestly I sort of feel bad for old gerbil since he's the Browns "trade down other 1st round pick" usually thats a career ender. But so far... He's been...ok. (please leave the kid at 1 or 2 positions to start off and see if he can succeed in real games)

Having said all that.... Being 4-0 in the preseas means exactly nothing... Except maybe a little showing of overall organizational competence, and actually guys competing to make the team. 1 touchdown allowed was it? The other teams guys are trying to make rosters too.
