Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

good game last night by the cavs...they could of folded after letting the pacers take a 10 pt lead in the 2nd half but they came back and almost won...kyrie irving was asked to take the last shot and he missed a bunny layup...he will get plenty more of those opportunities and convert them...but overall i like how we are playing right now

I would be happy for the Cavs to have enough games like last night to get one of the top 3 picks in the draft. IMO this is going to be the last year they have a shot at the #1 pick for the near future. This years draft and FA market will be the difference between being a bubble playoff team and competing for a title for the next 5-7 years.

I agree, I hope the Cavs trade Andy ASAP. They looked way too good the other night to see a top 5 draft pick. I would think the faster we get Andy to a contender, the better trade terms we could receive.

Below is the box score, pay close attention to the rebounding total. We just got killed up front. We need a couple of front line talent, big men in a bad way.

If the Cavs keep playing like they have the past couple games they are going to win too many games to sniff a top draft pick. They might be fighting for a playoff spot in the shortened season. They do have one thing that a lot of teams don't and that is depth which will be huge this season with more back to backs and back to back to backs. If they want a top draft pick they need to move Andy, Jamison, and maybe even Sessions as soon as they can. I think they need one more top 3 pick and a good FA market this summer before they have what they will need to challenge for a title. If they run out this season without making any moves they'll be drafting around 15 and be in the bottom half of the playoffs for the next 5-7 years.

i dont see us going to the playoffs...we will still finish bad enough to have a top 8 pick...im not completely sold on trading sessions as i was early in the season...guy is still pretty young and is a solid backup PG...as much as i love andy i think we need to get rid of him because of his age and this might be the last year to actually get good value back for him...im hoping in the draft we can land either a SG or a C....next years draft class could be sick if everyone comes out...i would really like to see the cavs get Lamb, Beal or Rivers...i think any of those 3 would be an awesome compliment to Irving...the cavs deffinitly made the right move taking Irving...this years draft class is really bad for PG's

Before we get too excited, let's see how the 7 game road trip ends.

Looking at the upcoming schedule, they could easily go 3-13 the rest of the month. Considering the first four games in February are against Orlando, Dallas, Miami and the Clippers, they could lose 17 of their next 20 games. We're still getting a good pick.

luckily antawn jamison is playing his way out of cleveland in the near future. quite frankly, AV needs to be dealt as well. he still does what he does, but there have been stretches this year already where he doesn't look like the same guy. if cleveland could be some miracle, luck into andre drummond and team him up with tristan thompson, that would be a straight nasty frontcourt.

the true test for this team will be the rest of the month of january...we got 1 home game vs Charlotte and then we go on our west coast trip and then plan chicago, atlanta, miami and the Knicks....if chris grant could somehow get a team to give us their unprotected first round pick i will be estatic...it could be more realistic since alot of teams are struggling already like Dallas, Memphis and Boston...the fastest way for this team to secure a lottery pick is to trade players for draft picks early...wether or not dan gilbert will approve of this is the question...he has said as early as yesterday that he acknowledges we are rebuilding...but we are .500 right now and actually look like a decent team...hopefully he will sign off on us trading because he knows even if we get a 8 seed that we will no doubt be getting knocked out of the first round

How about Andy and the King's conditional first round pick to Sac for Cousins? Maybe take back another bad contract if they have one. If he doesn't want to play for Sac I'm sure he really wants to spend the winter in Cleveland.
