Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Uh oh. Kevin Love showing a lot of skills tonight. Scoring from everywhere. Rebounding. Sweet Passing. Playing good defense??? Who0o. Someone has a fire lit under their ass today for sure. No surprise either that the Cavs look unstoppable tonight as well.

This shit is Spurs-esque tonight with the ball sharing and scoring from everywhere!

I'd love to be able to get Koufos as the backup big for next year, but with Andy, TT, and Mozzy I don't know if another big will be a priority with the MLE. Need an upgrade at backup PG, but they may be able to get a vet that wants to play for a title.

The Cavs are now 7-1 when LeBron, Kyrie, and Love all score 20 points. If they share the ball as well as they did tonight, nobody will beat them. Irving and Love had a little PNR game going tonight, which is something I've been waiting for all year. Kyrie usually ignores Love, no matter how open he is. I think Memphis is a likely Finals contender, so tonight was a good sign.

Also...
MVP = Lebron. Otherwise it belongs to Westbrook.
Harden is a fake superstar, he gets half his points from the foul line...lame.
Curry is a sharpshooter with a good handle, I would take Lebron over Curry any day of the week.

This is the best MVP race in years. The reality is that there is an incredibly strong argument for all four players, and that isn't even mentioning Anthony Davis or Chris Paul. Harden is the future of the NBA. I don't care for his game because I hate the lean-in foul, but the guy is a legitimate superstar.

On about half of Harden's crossovers, I can't figure out what Harden even did to make the defender trip over himself. Reminds me of the last NBA video game I played, Kobe Bryant Courstside (N64) about 15 years ago, it's like Harden just keeps pushing 'Left C' over and over until it finally times perfectly and the guy falls down. He is pretty amazing to watch.

Wiggins would not be having the same year here as he's having in Minnesota
He needs the ball.. and he ain't gonna get the ball as much with LBJ, Irving and JR
He's gonna be a really good one...
but Love will only get better and plus, imagine if we still had Bennett?? yuk

PS Wiggins is only averaging 4 rebounds and 2 assists / game

If Love continues to play like he has in the last few weeks (and stays in CLE long-term), I'd rather have him. He's been brilliant playing the PNR game with Irving and LeBron, and I love that he's started to establish an offensive game inside the arc. His recent numbers (12-15 shots per game, 3-4 three point shots per game, and big rebounding totals) are exactly what this team needs. I think the Cavs are finally starting to find an identity that includes Kevin Love, and the rest of the NBA (yep, including the West) should be afraid of what comes next.

From Jason Lloyd's Final Thoughts tonight:

26. This concluded an absolutely brutal travel stretch that included 15 of their last 20 games on the road. That streak dates back to the game at Chicago the night before the All-Star break. Add in All-Star weekend and guys like James and Irving have been on the road for about 29 of the last 45 days. “I love waking up in my own bed,” Irving said.

27. The schedule now flips considerably. The Cavs have just two road games left, they don’t have any back-to-backs and they have plenty of time to rest up for the postseason push. Sixers on Sunday. Talk to you then from the Q.

Should be a nice, soft landing for the team right before the playoffs begin.

I just want the exhibition to come to a close and let the playoffs begin. Cleveland need to championship and bad! I do not think you want to be resting guys too much at the end of the regular season or they might lose their edge. I can see them not playing games that long but as the playoffs come closer you want the guys to be playing together some.
